wife came home from a business trip with a 6 pack of hopslam, and a week old case of ithaca flower power. which is absolutely amazing when it's so fresh.

Had the 15th Anniversary Bottleworks beer last night. It's done by Lost Abbey and aged in tequila barrels. It was pretty awesome. Not as good as good as Firestone Walker's PNC (in regard to beers aged in tequila barrels) but it was definitely a solid beer.

Also had a Firestone Walker Abacus from 2011. Great beer, great taste, but after 4 years, no hop profile left. A bit sweet after 4-5 ounces...

This was my haul when I got back from VT two weeks ago. I'd never been to Hill Farmstead, somehow, so I had to get out there!

Hill Farmstead Everett
Hill Farmstead Society & Solitude #6
Hill Farmstead Harlan
Hill Farmstead Daybreak
Lawson's Big Hoppi
Lawson's Steve's Back Yard Red Ale
Lawson's Sticky (Maple Nipple aged for a year in bourbon barrels)
And not in the picture was a Shed Nosedive

All that's left is the Big Hoppi and Sticky, Sticky is definitely going to stand for a bit longer but Big Hoppi will probably need to be cracked soon.

Started off with:

Double Mountain Molten Lava (Imperial IPA): Wow. Kick ass.

Moved to:

Elysian Dayglow IPA (part of their Manic IPA series): Awesome citrus IPA. One of Elysian's best.

Then:

Goose Island The Illinois (Imperial IPA): Rather badass. I like it very much.

Then:

Laurelwood Green Mammoth (Imperial IPA): Good balance. A bit malty for my taste, but still has great hop profile. And when I say malty, I usually like my IIPA's with little to none. So this malt profile is like 15-20% of the taste. It's pretty damn good.

So far, the winner with me is the first, the Double Mountain Molten Lava.

More to come.

If you get a chance, try the Laurelwood Megafauna. It's the one that is a pure hop symphony. So so good.

Free-poured 007 Martinis with what is probably too much gin and olives.

And bacon-maple kettle chips.

I read about the combo in Men's Health.

I'm not always a fan of Belgian style beers. Often they are too bubbly and spicy for my beer preference.

Tried this and fell in love.
