Can't say I agree with this. Everyone I've spoken to about the Spikes share my opinion that they are kick a$$ when new, but the bearings are complete and utter $h1t. Mine seized up after two weekends of wet riding.
Running Spikes on my Trail and DH bikes.
Still going strong with no problems with either set.
3 years for the trails, and this is the second year for the DH.
