I meant to post this a few weeks ago when I first made it, but never got around to it. Channeled my inner Norm Abram and made a freestanding wine rack for the GF. Pretty pleased with how it came out given my lack of woodworking knowledge and patience. It's not perfect, but for a hack with nothing but a tablesaw, a couple sheets of 1/2" and 1/4" birch plywood, some stain and a napkin sketch, it's pretty sweet.

story time.
You ever meet one of those people who is just so absurdly fast on a bike, both uphill and dowhill, that it's just demoralizing? Yea, rode with one last night. I tried to hang for a bit and just got burned hardcore.

Oh yea, and he was on a single speed too.

No barfing and it was up at Betasso.

You remember that dude Ito that used to hang around here? I met up with him on his way through to/from somewhere and we rode White Ranch. Holy $hit. Like a rocket up and down... and a rigid SS to boot. I paid for the beer, IIRC.

Riding the baggage carousel.
That would be old age - esp if you don't really know what you did to injure it.
It's my right shoulder, which is the one that was crushed by the car. Pretty sure its the round of disc golf I played yesterday that did me in, but I played twice while in LA 2 weeks ago and I sure didnt feel like I do this morning.

But I'm not getting any younger.

I believe I owe you a couple shake-down Chimney laps. That said, I also hear the top of Chimeny is glare ice at the moment, but from Windy Saddle down sounded in.

Colorado night riding people are crazy. They ride single speed fat bikes up 20* slopes for fun.
While I do not ride a single speed or a fatbike, we did ride Dakota in the pitch black last night. Good times.

...up at Betasso.
So there's your problem.

Still no sign of spring. Going to drive 1.5 hours to a sugar shack tomorrow (likely in a friggin snow storm), to load the kids up with maple sugar. At least they'll have their cousins to play around with and chase around in the snow afterwards. Hopefully their grandparents can take care of them for a bit in the afternoon so I can go on a date with my wife. Having no family in the same town can sometimes suck.

My shoulder is acting up again too. No ghey hippy activities to blame, just slacking on my physio.

Aging is not going to be fun as my handful of injuries keep re-emerging.

I am going for a ride in defiance.
