....I haven't posted here in foreeeever but now is a great time to start again!:D

After much thought and research I ordered a new OnOne 456 EVOII frame this weekend and it should be arriving within a couple weeks. Im transferring some parts from my current bike over, but others Im going to buy new to start fresh. Im one of those old school hard heads that refuses to go extrenal bb so Im getting a new UN55 BB to go in the new frame. I already know its a 73mm shell in the new frame so thats all good. My question is how long should I get the spindle length? The cranks I'm going to use are most likely going to be FSA Alpha Drive in 175mm. I'm going to remove all the sprockets and just put my Blackspire 32 tooth on the middle with my bash guard on the outside like on my current bike. FSA recommends a 113mm spindle for the crankset but obviously they are assuming you will run it unmodified. Should I try to get a 110mm instead to keep it tight in? Ill be running 8 speed out back FYI, and the seatpost on the new OnOnes is 30.9 to accept dropper posts.

Thanks!:thumb:

Old thread but I'll throw this in anyway.

The middle chain ring usually sits pretty well in the middle of the cassette if we are talking chain line. So usually the recommended axle width/length would be pretty appropriate. I would say that you best base the chain ring position on what gears on the cassette you most frequently use.

Hilly terrain and riding light gears a lot? Go for a narrower axle. :)

It's also a really good idea to get On-One BBs chased and faced, also check the frame over really well before building it up, they are good with replacements but their QC is lacking.
