you had me second guessing myself for a minute... so I went back to the link I posted. it is indeed the xco course walk. and there were shots in there of the back wheel of the bike... at times, presumably when the course got steep, you would basically be staring straight at the ladies' shammy... so either you didn't watch, or you fast forwarded, and skipped the interesting sections. either way, I don't recommend it. it's creepy and made me feel dirty.
Yes the women's xc coursewalk/bouncearound/roadbike inspection etc...., hence a women's xc activitiy.

So Gwin won the race in the most technical part of the course (and maintained over the other two sectors). It's looking good for him for the rest of the year.
