So Cairns World Cup thread time?

Track preview here:

The track isn't the most technical, but has some pretty fast sections, a decent rock garden and pretty big sprint to the finish line at the bottom.

Would love to see Mik take it out, being it's in his hometown and all, but my money is on more Gwinning.

That did look really good and Mick made it look easy. Liked the sales pitch too beaches and mountain biking not a bad combination.

Heh......the top of that looks like the D1 trail at whistler.

They weren't kidding about being in the jungle.
It totally is D1 ha! I got bit by a poisonous spider right on my *ss in queensland once...not fond memories...I do dig the world cup is getting back into some of the these locations. Looks like this will be a tough race for the photogs to cover, might be tough to move about the track and get angles...

It's tropical conditions, race could be bone dry... just like the "raincoats required" PMB race.

I know fisheyed pov cams exaggerate it but some of those fast narrow sidehill sections with plenty of tree beams are going be fun since the advent of +28" handlebars. Especially if it's all snotty.

Looks like another turny champery track for elves.

Danny Hart's got this one. :D

Him too

I predict mick hannah's head is just going to explode from pedaling so ungodly fvcking hard he wants to win this race so badly.
Or explodes when he's pipped by Gwin and troy. His look when Gwin did him last weekend said it all.
Should be a good one...

I wonder how fast they go on that track.

Looks like at least 70 km/hr.
Yeah, I would say 70+km/hr. They did say 90km/hr in the video but that might be pushing it a bit.

Would be great to see Palmer and Vouilloz battle it out again, just for old times sakes. And yeah, Peaty might be the only guy who raced it all those years ago in 1996. That said, is Bas de Bever still riding?

I'm expecting to see some of the older Aussie riders come out of the woodwork for this one: maybe Michael Ronning, Sean McCarrol , Rennie, Kovarik etc. Should be interesting.

Vas is coach of the Dutch BMX team, and rides DH sometimes if he has time

I couldn't find that page the other day, only when the xc stuff was on. Since your so smart and i'm clearly lazy, can you tell what 12:15 EDT means for me? Thanks Dick.
jesus, click on the effing link that says DOWNHILL FINALS, not on xc, there you will see a countdown, with a little bit of math you can estimate what time it will be in YOUR timezone...

To save yourself the time and agony of your lengthy response, next time simply write 12:15am and save us both the trouble. Thanks again! Why so complicated?

I think he's hoping that if he shows you how to figure it out for yourself then you won't have to come and ask on every single WC thread for the rest for the rest of the year....

Seriously though- redbull's site will detect what timezone you're in when you connect and give you a schedule for your time here: http://live.redbull.tv/

exactly. if you tell stupid ppl everything they stay stupid instead of learning how to find stuff by themselfs. using google is not really THAT hard, at least it it shouldn't in 2014
