Anyone have experience with seriously short stems?

The darkside i have on order will probably be just a touch long with a regular stem, thinking of going with a 10mm direct mount stem, as specced on the Mondraker Summum.

Anyone else tried this?

Cesar Rojo did ;) Hi liked it :)
I am considering getting one for my 2015 bike, as I might get M size instead of usual S.

I think I've seen another ultra short stem lately, but I can't recall what was it...

Wasn't it on the GTs of the Athertons?

I ran a 35mm on a large instead of a 50mm on a medium and really liked it. Stretched me out a bit and seemed to allow me to correct eff-ups before they became big problems. It's a more upright position with these things, so you may have to switch to a lower or (dear God no) flat bar.

Anyways, if you have a long enough bike, go for it. I have no time on a super shorty but it looks like a lot of people, even mondraker athletes, have ditched it for a 35 or so.

using 30mm syntace. Love it so far. No much difference from 50mm. Nice to see new products like Spank!

Yeah, figured a 0 or 10mm stem necessarily will stack a bit, so a 10mm rise bar isn't out of the question.

Thanks for the feedback, all.
