To most mountain bikers, Mammoth Mountain needs no introduction. This is, afterall, the ski resort that pioneered lift-accessed riding and, in turn, transformed a non-descript, dusty access road into one of the most famous race courses in the world. Now, as Mammoth Mountain emerges from a difficult past few years, it wants to revive its reputation as a world-class cycling destination in order to attract more visitors and drum up business in the financially-strapped mountain community.

When I first heard about the KBG, I knew it was an event I needed to do to make my year complete. I rode the clydesdale xc, and had a total blast. Though it was no where near the size of the 80's/90's, with a little vision, it can be again. To me, this is a must-do event every year, as it was also done to honor my daughter in Heaven. Mammoth is my "happiest place on Earth".

Man...they put on the best show on the west coast last year. Unreal how few racers turned up for such a great setup. I sure hope they are rewarded by MANY more racers coming out this year. I have my mtbgravitycard for discounts...so I'll be there plenty this season.
