Haven't spent much quality time here lately, but I know my fan base is praying for fewer marriages and more job hopping.

So I took another job after a couple years freelancing (sleeping until noon, showering around 6 and then starting my day) at an ad agency and it's everything I remembered hating about working closely with others: Office politics, lots of whispering, cupcakes all the ****ing time (which were paired with free ice cream today - UGH. Right after lunch and everyone goes running like they haven't eaten in days), and a pool of incompetent junior designers.

And it's hot as **** here and not sure why I still live in Phoenix.

How's your summer going?

Been thinking about branching out into product photography myself.
Can be a nice side gig if you can show up with a little kit, shoot goodness and bounce. I did a lotta work for a green coffee company with many evolving products and I would have loved someone competent who offered this service rather than me mocking up packaging in Photoshop.

Interesting approach, location shooting, hmmm. I've mainly been thinking about tabletop shooting out of my studio since it's open to the public and easily accessible.

I bought a set of Alien Bees over the winter and have been playing around with them. The original intention was to photograph my own work.

Good to hear things are working out!
I have to admit, I miss Phoenix at times although it's nice to be on the East Coast for a change.

Things have been up and down over the years, but there's nothing I'd rather be doing than playing with typography and images on a nice Mac until I can retire on a golf course.

Where did you get stationed and how is military life?

Nice work AMS. I wouldn't even have to create fake shadows.
Thanks dude. I watched a product photography tutorial on youtube that showed how to create a PSD file with the subject on a pure white background for catalogue shots and a separate layer with the actual in camera shadow. Gives the graphic designer the option of using a shadow or not, without having to work it in Photoshop.

Connecticut.
Military life is interesting. Boot camp seemed daunting while I was there, pretty easy now that I look back on it. Its such a 180 from civilian life. It has its moments of awesome and suck.
I can iron, fold, and make a rack like nobody's business now :thumb:
