I say olde chap, no need to get cross, I was simply pointing out the good Mister Rat might realize some benefit if someone absconded with his 40 imperial ounce flask of ye Auld English and he wore 2 pair of knickers in case one gets befouled during an unintended riding respite.

God save the queen.
Ooh, good save!
He slipped up and used a z in his spelling of realise.

Ergo he's a spy, to the Tower with him.

Wow, that's impressive. Guess I'm going to join Kenan and abstain from routine dental services.
Abstain from routine dental services in your 20's, literally pay for it in your 30's.

I was hoping this dude from Portugal would hit top 10 but it's not looking so good. Hill's flat grass turns are so insanely awesome.

So sad indeed. A life lost is one too many. Anyone know what actually happened? Seems strange to have a fatal outcome on a crash in XCE

She fell off small wood bridge that passed over a spectator walkway and landed on her head. Sounds like a freak accident.

how'd the women overall play out? I think I saw that Rach won, but did Manon grab enough points to keep the overall?

wicked race from the men. I can't believe how strong Hill was on the bottom sections. I agree with Drkenan, Hill's flat grass turns are a sight to behold. Thirion's lines through the woods looked good too. I'm looking forward to the Geekstats with the heat map.

Next stop Hafjell, which should suit Hill rather well too...

Manon won the women's overall. Rachel got enough points to take the silver.

Thirion was definitely the most exciting through the woods, and he looked fast to me. I wonder where he lost all that time?

Yep, Manon took the overall, but great to see Rachel back on it and there seems to be better competition with Ragot and even Hannah picking up the pace.

Luca just lost out to Loris in a great overall points battle - props to the flying frechmen.
Assuming Rat Boy and Peaty didn't violate too many international laws/local villagers last night and join the French Legion, World Champs should be a great race.

Hill for World Champion!

Speaking of- it seems like our current World Champ had bit of a rough season. It was strange not seeing him be more of a threat, but I'm sure he'll be back making next season even more interesting.

Hill is not only (to me) one of or even the greatest rider out there, but also an amazing mentor.
Look at Brosnan, Simmonds, the two CRC guys. They all got inspired by one of the greatest our sport has seen and are some of the danger men out there.

On another note: It was stunning to see how Simmonds, Bryceland and Hill were so smooth and composed on their bikes. Almost no body movement there. Even during drifting, they look in absolute control.
Amazing.

I think first he was turned-off by being out of equation in the overall title and then had a few minor injuries plus a massive car crash. I can't believe he hit the barrier the hardest after the finish line - talk about bad luck... but if he recovers until World Champs he will be a contender. Nobody handles pressure so well as Minnaar.

Coming back from having his knee rebuilt would certainly slow him down for a while I would think.

Nah, I think it's more a motivation thing with him. Remember Hill needed to rebuild his knee in the exact same time.
They both crashed in Leogang 2013.
Even Minnaar can have a season "off".
Maybe his focus is also on other buisnesses, for example modwling.

I think if he didn't get dqed in cainrs he would have attacked more and wouldn't have saved himself only for worlds. I mean that sucked really hard compared to what rider got away in the past.

Why retire when you are still capable of beating almost everyone on the planet, even people more than half of his age?

Though he does seem to bruise up fairly easy these days.

A question about the DQing regarding last race and Peat's run:
After the upper rock garden, where he rode that funky gap line a la Bryceland he was clearly outside the track and needed to get back between the tapes.
I know he didn't get any advantage from that, but why wasn't he dq'd?

Minnaar and Kerr were dq'd during similar happenings.

Hehehe, Peaty is clearly on his way to ENDURO dominance. Cutting the tape without being caught. :D

I just watched Sam's GoPro run in full screen. definitely gives an idea as to how fast they are going. the speed he carried into the rough rock sections and in the bottom part of the course requires some mental gymnastics for me to even begin to fathom. amazing.

on a side note, whatever happened to Strobel? haven't heard about him in a while...
