Interesting question - the only possibility that immediately comes to mind is Sam riding for IH, but I suspect he was on something else after his Jrs career and going to IH. Just can't remember what it might have been (GT maybe?)

Seemed like Kirkaldie was always on Turner, but again, I'd be surprised if that was really the case.
I'm pretty sure Ratboy used to race for one of the Orange teams. Peaty hand picked/mentored a bunch of the top Brits and a lot of them rode for various Orange teams, Fairclough and Beaumont come to mind...

Didn't Sam ride his first season on an Intense? Was he a JR on the old Qranck team?
I think he was on Intense and then moved to Ironhorse/Madcatz team with Bryn and Rennie. Kovarik and Rennie were on the Qranc/GT team (they have a section in 'Down' if anyone remembers that movie).

Yeah, ROYAL racing, through which Peat also supported Stu Thomson, Neil Donnaghue, Rich Barlow and a load of other really fast young (at the time) UK guys you may not have heard of

Oh.. and like most young fast UK riders, Josh rode for a couple of shop teams before that.. one was Andy Kyfin's shop (Peaty's long time friend, ex WCer and personal mechanic through his GT years) Santa Cruz

Has anyone else ever been on only one brand from the beginning of their career untill they clinched the world cup overall? Not counting worlds or Jrs'. (except Nico) How about for their entire career?
Are we considering the women too in this question? Did Rach ever have another sponsor before Commencal? How about Juli Furtado? Did she start on GT? I can't picture her in anything else.

Yes, Rach was on the UK Muddyfox team along with her brothers.

is everyone new here? or just really really old?
I'm drunk and even I remember that DH riders don't start their racing career at World Cups, they usually start at smaller local/regional races, progress to Nationals then World Cups.. along the way they generally gain support from various, shops, clubs, teams and product maunufacturers rather than get picked up by a WC team from the beginning....

Actually I meant their World Cup careers as a sponsered rider.. My first post was on my work computer. with all the " we are watching you": software it was running so poorly I didnt get my full point across.
As far back as I can remember Josh rode a Santa Cruz during his world Cup career. Do not recall anything else. That is a pretty long run to be on a single brand. Especialy since for a couple years there a lot of people like myself wonderd if he would ever live up to all the faith they had in him. Glad he proved them right. I just wonderd if anyone else ever started on a brand, and satyed on it as long or longer untill they finally got the series win.
As for the women I remember Mosley winning on a Kona. not sure if she ever rode anything else before.

Racer with Most number of Dh fork brand won/ podiumed in world champs is GM.
Manitou, showa, rockshox, and now fox.

Fork brand with most world champ wins is obviously rockshox (boxxer) including HB's single crown on his miyata bike

Marzoochi tripple 8 has 2 wins with Fab.

Fox 40 has 2 wins with Gee and GM

Most number of bikes won (including Jr's) or podiumed.

GM - haro, Honda, santacruz
SH- intense, iron horse, specialized
(world champ edition nukeproof pulse would be nice).
Peaty - gt, orange, santacruz

World champs constructors' list:

V process - 4 , Nico
GT (LTS) - 3, Mike King, Nico (2x)
Iron horse (FS works, Sunday) - 3, Dave Cullinan, Sam hill (2x)
Santacruz (V10.3, V10.5) - 3, Peaty, GM (2x)
Sunn - 2, Nico, Francois Gachet
Kona (stab supreme) - 2, Fab (2x)
Giant (DH team, Glory) - 2, Rockwell, Danny Hart
Specialized (Demo 8) - 1, Hill
Commencal (supreme)- 1, Gee
Haro (DHR, by intense) - 1, GM
Sintessi - 1, Albert iten
Miyata -1 , HB

*highest probability, 650b will win this year's world champs.

* At 2009 world champs at canberra, aus, FAB tried to enduro (single crown marz) his way on a pedally course for gold but failed. SH wear dh shorts on his race runs instead of his usual pajamas.

* 2013 Pietermartizberg, Jared Graves won bronze on his enduro bike.

* Did Nico really won the world champs on a gt zaskar hardtail? He switched bikes on his final run, the course was so muddy.

* by the way, 2 weeks ago, it rained during the final run of the masters dh world champs in hafjell.

The first time I heard of Sam Hill, was way back in 03, he have beaten the godfather of freeride canadian Wade Simmons in a freeride contest sponsored by redbull in aus.

Sam hill was on intense M1 with manitou Dorado doing ladder bridges and teeter toter and wall rides. (Check you tube).

It turned out he is also a fast jr. downhill racer!

Fox 40 has well over double digit wins, Gwin has 9 alone. Not to mention Rat's two wins this year. Blenki in Schladming 08. Brook Macdonald has won on a 888. You must have really not tried on this post.

I'll tell you what's awesome. Every top dog except Steve Smith is in peak condition right now. The top twenty guys are all getting faster as they year goes on. Not one guy is blowing them away. This race is going to be the closest of all if no one gets taken out in practice.

That being said, keep in mind that Bryceland has been the best overall this year, but when milliseconds are of the utmost value, he sure seems to be partying a heck of a lot harder than anybody in the top 10. I know he's English/british/whatever, but Hill, Brosnan, Gwin...they're resting and recuperating more.

If Bryce pulls the win, I will be stunned. (You read it here first).

Nico was on Sunn, then GT, then Lapierre.
Hill was on Intense, then Iron Horse, then Speshy, then Nucleaspoot.
Kirkcaldie was on "blank", then Rocky Mountain, Schwinn, Intense, Turner....

Where's JK?

John Kirkcaldie scored himself a factory ride for Schwinn in 99, so he's now a big bucks DH professional. Obviously handling himself with style, we were impressed with his first write up in VeloNews. This appeared in the February 8 1999 Issue:

"New Zealander John Kirkcaldie showed up at the Schwinn-Toyota RAV4 downhill team's January motorcycle skills camp with a couple of shiners and a wicked gash between the eyes. Seems there are two versions about what happened. The story given to team management had BMX bikes and dirt jumps involved. When cornered however, Kirkcaldie admitted he actually took some lumps in a New Years Eve brawl. While stepping to a night club with some friends, the former rugby player said he "cut in front of the biggest bastard there was. I happened to have talked some shit to him. Obviously I put up a bit of a fight because I have scabs all over my body." Kirkcaldie said he was going to come clean to his team, sooner or later. Better make it sooner, John."

Yer he was Intense for a couple of years, pretty sure he won both his Norba overalls on the M1. I remember being so jelly of his Silver and Orange Maxxis stickered M1 with the 5th elephant in it when I was a spotty DH grom way back when

what the fvck was that weird minecart thing he rode? that was amazing. I'm totally going to insert that into some highspeed section of a trail because that looks way more fun then pinning it.

I think I actually have the VHS of that Rebull Freeride competition somewhere in my house. It was a gift from a riding buddy back in the day and got us pumped to go build features and wreck derailleurs and brake rotors on them.

So, only Ragot is on the new Lapierre? Blenki and Bruni are still on the old one, even for Worlds?

And Luca Shaw is my new hero. That helmet is all kinds of awesome...

Well, more accurately it rained throughout the entire event. Friday afternoon was Sunny, but most of the rest of the 3 days was wet. Sunday was arguably the wettest day though, can't deny it :)

Saw this on one of the photo epics, " Red Bull won't be here to provide the live feed, but have no fear.. There will be a live stream going on all the same."

Would somebody post up the details on the live stream as it is known for all to see please?
