What I love the most is that now I can open a thread at the last message I read. I used to be able to do it on my phone, but never quite figured it out on the computer. Now I know how, and it's awesome!

Glad to hear some people are loving the new layout. Incidentally, anyone who wants to see the mobile site without a mobile device can just resize their browser window to be very narrow - the page changes its layout to fit the window.

Scary, I hear you on the sterility, and I've got some changes in the works to help resolve that. I'm not sure what you mean about making it look like there's less traffic, though - can you explain?

Some parts of the navigation are a little obtuse - - took me a little bit to figure out what to click to get to the last post in the thread; and I think the breadcrumbs should be ABOVE the 'freeze pane' scroll when you are in a thread - - but that's probably because I'm just so used to the VBulletin-style architecture. Overall the look is clean, spare and fresh.

Well, I only use the mobil site because I am a very influential man who is always on the move. I don't have time to stop from my jet setter lifestyle to find a pc to check status's.
Every time the page loads it looks the same from the last time it loaded, with old , uninteresting threads from Kidwoo mixed in with new content. Iguess what I
I'm saying is that the threads I don't want to look at don't disappear or get unhighlighted from the page after I've looked at it, like the old page.
Also, I can't readily see how many views topics have had.How am I supposed to know when to jump in on a thread and ruin it?
And, yes I'm pissed off about the green squares and the feedback page in the settings.
This forum is a competition. I think you've lost the spirit of the Internet with some the changes.
Alot of them are cool , too. But, my thing is to bitch and complain. Not hand out compliments like they're Halloween candy.

Hmm... okay, there are a couple of issues.

When a thread is unread, the title should be bold and have a small blue dot next to it. When you have read the thread, the dot will disappear and the title will no longer be bold. Does that not happen for you?

In the second case, I could look at adding the views next to the replies. I think it might become too crowded but I'll see what it looks like.

Not sure what this means unless you're referring to the loss of the old rep. Rep is still here, likes are still here, but the old rep was so ingrained after so many years that old members sat at the top and new members could never hope to contribute enough. Thought it was time to start fresh.

The time/date of a post is hard to find. When scary posts I need to see when it's done, recently or not.........or if someone needs to call paramedics. You always hear about old people being dead inside their homes for weeks at a time before someone discovers them.

It's really a matter of safety.

@kidwoo Yeah, that's definitely going to be resolved, I don't like it either.

Though, if Scary's going to go all, "I've fallen and I can't get up" on us, maybe that's a reason to leave it as is for a while.

yeah, but some of us don't need all the constant affirmation to make our lives feel meaningful. i agree with OP, the new layout is pretty lame...

then again, i don't live on here like half of you, so i never knew there were issues with the old style...

"Lame" is not actionable but I'm happy to take suggestions if you've got something more specific.

There were no issues with the old style. The old software was a dead end and impossible to manage and maintain.

New software = new style.

I get the blue dot thing, but then I have to click on a topic about a Monster t or Why Snow Summit is Awesome, you know things that are useless and not fun to ride.
I digress. The blue dot makes itlook like things that I already chose not to look at are still topics that I should look at because the blue dot makes it look like it's new,but it's not. And I don't want to click on it to get rid of it...as much as I love Snow Summit

Well, some of us DO need a place to project superiority and confidence over others.
I can attest that this is not a place of constant affirmation, although if I could... i would have directed you to the amount of green squares I aquired in relation to the relatively few number of posts (referred to earlier by a fan as "gold") that i had.
Although, someone like Kidwoo aquired many more green squares than me, he used more of a shotgun approach where if you throw enough crap against the wall, something is gonna stick. I'm more of a highly trained sniper by comparison, and think that showed and newcomers to the site were actually inspired, not put off, at what one could achieve through hard work, determination, one 2 week suspension and a little bit of moxy.
But, now that's all gone to sh1t.

If you want to mark the threads as read without clicking on them, you can just use the "Mark Forums Read" link under the header. That will mark every thread as read without having to click on them.

It's a trade-off. Either the forum mark everything read after just visiting the forum, or it has to accurately track "read" vs. "not-read." I never liked the assumption that just because I had time to load Ridemonkey for one second on a break, or standing in a line, that I must have read everything I would ever want to click on.

In any event, try the "Mark Forums Read" function. Might be what you want.
