Interesting map here. Though, nothing on the map is really out of the ordinary. Seems normal that people within the city would have a shorter commute time than the folks living out in the boonies, no?

Stole this from here: http://jalopnik.com/this-map-shows-which-american-cities-have-the-most-mise-1642847455

For myself, it takes about 40 minutes to go 27 miles to work. Closer to an hour when it snows. Could be worse, I guess.

About 2 1/2 hours to work, 1 1/4 coming home. Oh, yeah, I have that Kingsbury Grade to deal with, so 8 miles uphill makes the 8 miles downhill very worth it.

Now, to finish with that damn road construction at the top.....

Most of our jobs are within 10-30 minutes. I'll go further if $ there but not without a fight.

75% of the time about 3 seconds to walk 20 feet. The rest of the time it is a 10 minute 8 mile drive to the airport. I don't enjoy work travel but the field bonus and the potential to make OT soften the blow.

About 2.5 miles, which is about 10 minutes actual driving time in the car or 15 minutes on the bike. What with changing out of work clothes and unlocking the bike, or walking to the far-off staff parking lot if I drove, it takes close to 30 minutes door to door.

Update: did it close to 20 minutes today in the car. Close parking space, little traffic getting off campus.

Its about 3 feet from my bed to my desk. I have no commute since I often work from bed.

Well I quit my day job, so .... zero minutes.

If it's with either of my bands, anywhere from 15 minutes to our rehearsal room up to a day or two depending how far away the gig is.

In hell. Welcome!
The only positive thing I have to say about my current commute is that it will be over soon. We are moving our office downtown at the end of the month which means 20 minutes on a commuter rail from my nice little town.

about 3.5 km, maybe around 10 mins on my bike. Downhill on the way to work. Doesn't get a whole lot better.

Mine is shit. 45 minutes, 38ish miles (depending on route). If I leave the house by 6, I can get to the office in 45 minutes, if I leave after 6:30, it's 90 minutes. While it sucks to be in the car that long, I do have access to some roads that are entertaining and I do drive something fun. :D

The straight route for me is HWY 30, Corn Pass, 26, 217, Scholls Ferry. The fun route is Logie Trail, Skyline, Scholls Ferry. 26 isn't bad before 7, same for 217.

depending on how i go, it's either 27 or 32 miles (the longer route is when i take 128 to rt 2). it takes anywhere from 50 min (yay for summer) to 90 each way. a 'normal' non-summer commute is usually around 70-75 min.

just under 2 miles. Including dropping my kid off at daycare, by bike it currently takes just under 20 minutes. When I have to start walking (I don't bike when they start putting salt on the roads), I'm guessing it will be closer to 45 minutes.

I don't go anywhere that requires pants before 11:30AM. If for some reason my presence is required before 11:30 I punish everyone within earshot the worst comedy they will ever witness. If it requires me to drive there forget comedy, I am just an unbearable asshole!

About 7.5 miles, ~12 minutes or so in the morning and evening by car.

25 or so minutes in the summer by bike.

40 or so minutes in the winter by fatbike (coldest was approx -12F here in Anchorage) Problem commuting in the winter is you can only go as fast as your clothing allows. Too fast, you start overheating and sweating, so more than often you are trying not to overheat and have to slow down.

About 40 miles in 60 minutes or so. Mostly four lanes the whole way with very little traffic. The last bit on the way to the office is a toll road, but I take some fun back roads (the Baltzer Pike!) to avoid paying tolls.

its the gangs of mennonites on their bikes that are the problem around here. the Amish are still a bit west from me.
I am having a tough time visualizing a Mennonite bike gang.

I figured out yesterday that while Logie Trail is fun, it has worse pavement and a few dips I scrape on than if I stay on Skyline all the way to 30. Now I need to hit it coming from the other way. It's just wicked dark and I don't want to hit a deer or something. :panic:
