Right accommodation booked.

But which bike to buy?
Norco carbon sight?
Lapierre Zesty?
Santa cruz Bronson?
Kona Process?
Yeti's are out as all the ones we've had through my shop are just too fricking fragile.
Maybe a Banshee?

Nomad 3. GG Megatrail. Canfield Balance.
Nomad's out, I want a bike that I can use for my everyday bike as well and the nomads not so great going uphill.
Also the Santa Cruz importer won't sell me one...... I can order in any Santa Cruz I like from him for my except the Nomad those are for offical Santa Cruz dealers only. Fucked if I'm buying a bike through someone else's shop!

But the OP lives in NZ and seems to work in a shop, getting something normal at wholesale(possibly less staff discount) would be a better option for the wallet.

Transition Patrol? The new Canyon Strive would be one hell of a rig. Not available in NZ, though.
Oh, and the Giant Trance SX or new Reign would be on my list too.

Depends on how slack you want your all around bike to be?

Giant Trance or Reign
Devinci Atlas or Spartan
Pivot Mach6
SC Bronson

The new Ibis might be nice too as mentioned.

So I've ended up getting the Lapierre Zesty 527 AM, short version is because I can get it and buy the XTR 1x11spd for the same price as the Norco Carbon Sight.

http://www.lapierre-bikes.co.uk/2015/bikes-mtb-all-mountain-trail/zesty-am-527

Only change I can see from the one listed there is that the one I got has a 50mm stem not the 70 on the UK spec bike.
So swaping out the drivetrain for XTR 1x11 and tyres for either my fave Maxis combo of HighRoller 2.4 upfront & ardent out back or maybe go play with the Mavic Charge 2.4/Roam combo just to see what it's like.

Gave up on waiting for the XTR cranks to arrive in NZ and went with the 6c cranks and cinch direct mount Raceface narrow/wide rings (in blue to match the bike).
Mavic Charge 2.4 on the front is f*cking awesome!!
Not so sold on the Mavic Roam on the rear, really fast rolling but the side knobs are just not beefy enough and I tend to lose the back a lot especially on off camber it's diabolical!
Loving the Pikes up front such a buttery smooth magic carpet ride.
The zesty definately love getting airborne which is fun but scary to me as I've never been a jumper.
Climbs really really well for a 150mm travel bike.
