I have a 2013 Scott Genius LT (pull shock), that am thinking about replacing (though am still at a very early stage, havent decided to take the hit yet); basically because 2 of my friends (who used to be waaaaaaaay slower than me) got each an Intese carbine 29 and a 27.5 new nomad; and they are handing me my ass on both the descents and uphills ever since.
and, as we all know, hitting the gym or scheduling more trainning is way too much work.
am amazed at how the 140mm carbine 29 is much better over choppy terrain than my 185mm bike; and the new 27.5 nomad is a full kilogram lighter than my scott; plus the fork/shock track a lot better than my basic dt/lyrik RLR combo.
now, the requirements:
- target weight: 12.5kg (sub 28 lbs) if possible. up to <30lbs is acceptable
- 650b or 29" does not matter
- 66 headtube angle, or slacker.
- MUST have a reverb/ks (stealth is, possible).
- 150-170mm of travel.
- downhill performance is more important than climbing
- my last 3 bikes have been single pivots. wouldnt mind trying a different system.
- 1*11 or 2*10 irrelevant.
- laterally stiff rear end is important.
- teh carbonz preferred.
- under $4000 msrp, if possible (yeah right).
I dont care much about the brakes (I will replace them with some Zee´s for the long ass andean descents).
the options am currently thinking about.
scott genius lt 710 (am not quite sold on the single pivot concept)
scott genius 720 (not as slack as I´d like... but its lightness makes it interesting)
suggestions?
