If anyone else is actually interested in these, shoot me a line (steve at vorsprung suspension dot com) and let me know. Fairly good upgrade option for those people with either older pre-invert 40s, open bath 40Rs or people (like kidwoo) who just prefer the Charger damper to the RC2.

That's actually a great idea! What would you charge for these littles thingees? A charger plus adapters might be similar to a FIT cart, but then you can say you're strange enough to attempt this.

Be interested to hear what it would cost to purchase a whole unit ready to go? Have any idea yet?

This mod is fake. You've been exposed kidwoo!

I'm not sure what this person is saying exactly. Do they think Woo just slid an entire Boxxer stanchion with damper inside of a 40 stanchion? And wouldn't that just make it more real and awesome?!

I didn't even know I had a stauntion. Sweet!

What is that?

I just got back from brocal with a decent amount of laps on everyone's favorite filming trail (enough to really mess with settings). Holy shit it's good. I need to get a different o-ring for the bottom adapter, it's seeping lube oil a little.

I kept my same preload settings on the spring (I have the last gen coil) and just kept backing off and backing off over two days. This thing rides so much higher in the travel while still getting full squish on the big bangs. Kind of the same deal if you've got a pike with some volume spacers or a newer boxxer. Good stuff.

So glad I put that whole stauntion in.

you twerkin' in that second pic?
If that means 'missing the sweet spot and augering your front wheel into a hole'

But that's exactly the kind of thing I wanted this damper for. The boxxer I've ridden just seemed more composed through that kind of stuff without having to crank up the preload and HSC damping like I had with the stock fox setup.

I'm like 160 dressed and rode the fit damper almost completely maxed with HSC and spring preload. And it was still a little divey. This is better.

You are probably just going too fast. Could be relativistic effects.

If there's going to be crappy images of this unicorn fork in action, I prefer crappy images that move. Upgrade your cameraman.

Having not ridden the current chassis Boxxer are they still really that flexy, even when compared to the "less stiff" current Fox 40? Being a heavy rider I couldn't hang with the old 35mm Boxxers and have only ridden a 40 since '07 for stiffness purposes alone.
This could be interesting.

For someone my size? No, I didn't think so. They're not as stiff as a 2 year old 40 like I have but I don't think they're noodles. More important than anything they don't bind under flex and get the staUntions pinched from the crowns like the first 35mm ones did.

I just own a 40, and had access to a charger damper. And if starting from scratch I'd rather have this than a boxxer anyway TBH. I'd be happy with a boxxer too but I really like the 40 chassis.

Around 5cc or less. I didn't measure precisely but it was around that.

I just wanted to get it together and see if it worked. I'm going to go ride it again today and I'll pull it apart tonight to hunt down a better o-ring to fix the seep.

Question: did you drop a Boxxer stauntion in the spring side as well? I bet that would be pretty poppy.

McWoo burgah!

The non-linear viscous properties of ground beef aren't really up to par for this application. A meat paste is in order, it would be more of a hotdog consistency in a disk rotor friendly doughnut shape. Think hotdog meat bagel. Need to develop a mustard with good thin film sheer friction qualities.
