he's still riding, just not nearly as much. he has discovered this phenomenon known as "friends" and rarely has time for riding and good 'ole dad anymore. he's been doing a lot of other activities as well, baseball, gymnastics, paintball......
he did, however, do a night trail ride and street session with me this week. we're going to ray's in february and he's vowed to try a learn backflips in the foam pit now that he's got his back handspring down at gymnastics.

so yes, he's still riding but it's not his ONLY thing anymore...i guess he's just growing up and trying to be well-rounded. although it does make me a little sad when he ditches a ride with his pops for a game of war with his buddies.

a few shots from riding this season:

and one of his other activities that he seems to like a lot...other than growing his hair out

if he starts trying to comb his hair forward.....you need to have a talk with him.

um...actually...we had to have the "where babies REALLY come from" talk the other night. that was weird and kind of cool at the same time. it was a very basic talk but some stuff has come up at school and we felt he needed to at least have the basis of how stuff works. he laughed hysterically when he realized what i've meant when i tell my friends to stop crying about their va-jay-jay.

yes, she's one heck of a trail dog...although i have a remote shock collar arriving tomorrow as she quite the teenager when it's time to go inside...she just keeps running around ;)

i haven't had enough footage lately for a compilation vid but i did made a couple vids of some dh runs. he's not digging the DH stuff right now, i think it's primarily because of the limitations of his 20" bike.

local DH shuttle trail, easy enough for a beginner but can be sketch if you try to push it. check the drop to near tree collision at about 2:50-3:00

DirtyBird DH track...it was a little over his head with the steepness, even when it was dry. on race day, after a few inches of rain it was over just about everyone's heads. he let me film a few sections before calling it quits for the day.

oh yeah..and his youngest sister is following in his footsteps :d

haha..nice! i know for a fact that if his neighborhood friends were into riding he'd be throwing down every day. but...as fate would have it, the kids are all into playing war and the one kid who TRIED to ride noah's bike grabbed a handful of front brake, after i warned him about doing that, flipped over the bars, scraped his elbow and ran off crying for his momma. noah went up to him and said, "dude...it's just a scratch, why are you screaming?" i had a hard time holding in the laughter ;)

thought this was as good a place as any to put up a short clip of him riding at Ray's this past weekend. he had an absolute blast and i think he sparked his interest in riding again.

So I'm stuck inside at work today with an injury. I got bored and checked out this old website I used to frequent and happened upon this thread....so I thought I'd give a 5 year update :)

Yes, he's still riding, although there's not much of a gravity race scene here in So. AZ so we've been doing a lot more dirt jumping at the local bike parks in addition to the super chunky DH this area is known for.
