Upon further reflection, I think it would be cool to apply a rub-on Romic shock tat if you gashed your calf with a chainring or something. But it would need to be a pretty deep and bleedy laceration to really pull off the Romic aesthetic.

What's up with the Little Man doing so well on such a long, tough course? He won here last year. He must be able to get so small on his bike that he can cut thru the wind/muck/rux with ease...

man, that helmet cam really flattens the course out. some of those sections do not look like a 61% slope.
I think you may be confusing percentage grade with degrees
http://www.calcunation.com/calculators/general math/geometry/slope-percent-conversion.php?perc=61&calc=yes&Calculate=Convert+to+Degrees

61% = 31deg ie. not super steep by any means.

Anoach mor is not a steep hill. The steepest section on the entire track is at the end of the motorway when you land from the Tissot (or whatever they call it now) Jump. There's actually no real steepness to the wooded parts of the hill. the first is fairly mellow gradient but made from a specially formulated neverdrytm soil which combined with the roots, holes and small drops makes it a sketch-fest, the second far longer wooded section is flat as fuck. and even has a short uphill in it.

getting ready for some dislikes...and, to be sure, no way i could hang with anyone that fast on the course, but to me ft bill, other than being long, looks a lot easier than many of the other wc tracks.

Perhaps that's true, but I actually like the variation between tracks rather than everything being Champery-ish gnar. It seems like this course requires a lot of fitness (gasp) as well as a willingness to smash some hi-speed rox (distantly related to east coast rox at that). To me, it's a unique landscape unlike anything else they race, and I have to think the fan support will be top shelf, if not the best on the circuit.

Still, I will dislike you if it helps. :thumb:

Bollocks, no qualies today due to excessive Earth farts. Sounds like there isn't another functional way to get riders to the top, so I'm curious if there's a plan B for tomorrow if the gonadola is still swinging in the wind.

It's rainy and windy today. Qually runs may stand for finals if it further degrades at ft bill as forecast is indicating.

So did the wharf rat think the better of givin it a go today? Can't say I blame him if he did. Another amazing result for Luca, and a helluva showing for Marcelo!

But what else can you say about Minngnar? I mean it's one thing to qualify for a WC race on a non-trade team, riding an unrideable bike (bottom link driver or not) - but to pull off a victory? Even American Pharoah is impressed with that unlikely accomplishment.

one question : when is the expiration date on reminding everyone that the syndicate is not a trade team?

Finally figured out I can use my Chromecast to watch on the big screen.
use it to train your kid early...my 5 and 10 year olds love watching it (although the 10yo goes into the redbull menu and watches harescrambles-says he likes it better when everyone is racing at the same time :hmm:)
