'Morning! Since the wife is dragging me out on a 110 mile road ride tomorrow ( :dead: ), I'm doubling up on the runs today to keep the mileage up. 6 miles completed before work, 7-8 more planned post-work.

Freakin' Thursday, finally!

Nothing really planned at work today, we'll see how boring it gets. Maybe I'll try to spend some money, I don't do that enough here.

I must comment on the weather lately. The drives to work in the morning have been absolutely perfect. I love rolling all the windows down and cruising in the slow lane; all while lolling at the asshats shuffling lanes in the left and middle lane like they are dodging bullets.

well the colon seems to be working well this morning....

Forcast is for 102* today. I think shorts are in order. Yesterday was fun, took an old dude from a nursing home in Walnut Creek up to Napa for a birthday party. He had this hottie blond nurse with him. I had lunch in a mexican restaurant overlooking the Napa river nice relaxing shift. Probably get stuck in Oakland today as a payback

Sometimes the legs, sometimes the brain, but days like that when you push through make a runner stronger. (not to sound like a cheeseball or anything)
I hope so. I ended up doing some really fast laps today with a small group. 7.55 per lap of 3.35 miles. I think it's the fastest I have ever done but it's a good way to get even faster. I still have a cold and it showed as my pulse started getting high and would not settle down where it normally does.

Topé runs and drives, has seats and seat belts, tools and spares on board, and all safety equipment is present and accounted for. T-minus 7 hours 54 minutes until departure for the BOR Mike Hickey Memorial Dinosaur Dash in Vernal, UT. Bonus: we're gonna explore some Vernal area mountain bike trails while we're out there as well.

w00t, I say. w00t.

In (unrelated) news, yesterday was Bike to Work Day here in Colorado... maybe elsewhere too? Yeah... put together a nice 8-mile route from the bus drop-off to the office that maximized free food intake... loads of pastries and burritos and oatmeal and yogurt and other assorted carbohydrate-oriented treats. The Boulder B-Cycle breakfast station had mimosas, so that was rad. After work, grabbed the bus down in to Denver to get Topé loaded up on the trailer, then pedaled ~15 miles home, mostly in the rain.

Working from home today, plumber guy is here this morning working on the water heater. Rubber side down, ya'll.

I survived my ride home last night post-tornado. Apparently lots of trees down a mile or two south of me. My area just had branches and leaves down, perhaps an inch of accumulated individually small hail (no car damage), and a ton of water flowing everywhere.

Today I am working while simultaneously revising a paper--second paper to revise this week. I had the random joy of busting out some equations on the editor: they wanted me to cite a source for this equation that I used as a central part of my paper, so I pedantically made an appendix in which I derive it from base assumptions. QED ya bastids! :D

Oh. The Mac mini is not doing well. Techs are taking a few dollars to look at my porn collection and browser history. I smell a new computer soon. May be time for a MacBook. Debating on models now. Don't need the retina display, so the Air could get the $$$.

Another day another dollar!

Ran for a bit last night until the heat made my brain feel like it was going to pop. Little one is doing excellent at riding his bike as far as I want to go, provided we stop at a park and I do laps around it for a bit while he plays :) Pretty cute, especially when I give him the nod of "time to go!" and he gives me the "fuck that! I'm playing!" look, but still grabs the bike anyway. Maybe we'll head into the woods with two bikes tonight. Whistler bound in two weeks and could use a little time on the bike before I go!

In hell. Welcome!
Another day, another job interview.

On the plus side, they have just opened a new brewery two miles from my home, and I am leaving for a cape cod relax with friends this afternoon.

drank coffee / wrangled kids to preschool and camp / arrived at work / more coffee / poop / started laying out next show / picked up kid from camp and brought home / bought chicken feed / back to work for more coffee and lunch . . . hoping to leave early for nice cold beers.

Trying to swing a day of massive pain and suffering in the hills on Sunday. Fingers crossed for approval for a day of epic gnar.

where the trails are
My post work rides have been skunked by evening rains (downpours actually) more than a few times lately, and today is looking no different.
I really have to start the dawn patrol program. Early to bed, early to rise, climb all the trails, huck all the gnars.
