Morning monkeys.

Still pumped up from last nights USWNT win over Germany 2-0. Was celebrating at the bar with my fellow AO members a little later than planned last night. Just one more game to go on Sunday!!!!!

Wooo, working on Canada day (whatever derpderp that is?!?!). With most of the country at home today, it took all over 20 minutes to get to work.

It appears that an entire flock of birds took a crap on my car last night. Must wash soon...

Coffee for all!

Downloaded a shit-ton of angst on my poor bike last night, basically smashing into everything on the trail like I wanted to kill it.
36/X2 combo just shrugged it off; got the suspension close to dialed now and it's sweet.
Heavy rain today means hero-dirt tomorrow.

Paperwork and bong-shed sessions to ease sore body on tap for today.

Good triathlon last night. Three minute improvement over last week. I finished in 1:03:11, good for 55 out of 138 overall. Every person (all 54) that finished ahead of me had a faster swim. I have the most to gain on the bike though, once I get my bike legs back under me. I am in the top half on the bike, but I can gain a lot more time there. I've got good MTB handling skills, which certainly gives me an advantage. I pass a lot of people who slow down where there is no need to be slowing down (turns, technical sections, etc), and people don't know how or when to shift. Then we get to the run I do my damage there. Two races now and I have yet to be passed on the run. My run is disproportionately strong compared to the swim and bike. #coolstorybro

Spend your focus on the bike. Even as a good swimmer you will only make tops 2-3min on a 500yd swim.

I have been summoned to the principal's (chairman's) office at 11:30. Two other attendings have been as well. We don't know what this is about. Probably something benign, but perhaps my head will roll... :D

Friday eve... Can't get outta here fast enough. I need a run or something tonight. Got lots of phone calls with people who speak other languages today and I don't see a lot getting accomplished, but they are paying me to do it, and I like getting paid. #whitepeopleproblems

Aren't you a bit old for angst? I thought that was more a teenage/emo 25 year old living at home thing.
It was rooted in frustrations with my oldest son and my perceived failings as a parent.
A general anxiety/malaise that needed to be purged through suffering.
Woke up clear headed and ready to turn the little princesses world upside down.

I've got Haley by myself this week. Total isht show with PT, MRI, Dr's appointments, swim school, getting her to school, etc. Plus she's having serious behavioral issues since she moved to the preschool class. They put her in a class with only two other kids (from 14) from her prior class. Both have since moved to the other preschool class. Trying to get the school to transfer her to the other class, else we are going to have to look at moving her to a different school. Massive pita.

Still not able to train and it's killing me. My hopes for a serious drive into the Santa Cruz half in September is fading, as I can't even do long walks to get some heartbeats. Hopefully I can make it happen. At Boulder, I placed in line with my race in Austin, but without the altitude advantage. Even have a better training plan in place, focusing on weight loss and metabolic efficiency, as I blew up in my run for Austin. Even started looking at going full aero wheels for SC to buy time. It's killing me.

Yes, yes they are. Sucks we have to love them so much. Brought Lucas home from his Aunts last night and he was not excited to be home. He just kept crying about missing Auntie--hello child!? What are we, chopped liver?! We even finished the first Star Wars Episode last night! (Working our way through the first six with him, then hope to go see 7 in theaters when it comes out)

Ohhh I hear ya there. But he's 8, and I don't know how old Anakin is here, but he looks the same age.... Kid liked it. He DID keep asking where the Millennium Falcon was... when I told him, "Episode !V", he was appropriately disappointed.

Canada day. Rented a bouncy castle for the 19 kids in my court. I have escaped to the coffee shop for a moment of respite.

Not only can kids be dicks sometimes, they can be assholes too.
