holy shit dan-o that thing is dialed.
(unrideable, but dialed!)

First impressions on the X2?
The X2 is a massive improvement.
Bolted it on at the trailhead, aired to body weight with baseline settings.
Great support, much more lively, so nice having total control over shock settings.
Magnitudes less pedal strikes, no wallow, each click makes definitive change in feel.
No notchiness like my DBa had, just supple active goodness.
10/10, will bang again.

Haha, rode my X2 for the first time this weekend, and you've hit the nail on the head. I really quite liked my Monarch Boner, but the X2 blows it out the water. Nice and lively too, which is something I was a little worried about prior to committing to buy.

Would need new cranks and prolly an angleset. Not sure if it would still be too dh-ish for the 85% of the time I'm on local xc-ish trails. I don't have a problem pedaling my 34# unrideable, probably misaligned uzzi right now though...

how does the new Fox compare to the Vivid Air RC2 ?? i have one on my 167 and love it
I only have the Vivid coil and Debonair for comparison on this bike, sorry.
In fact, think I may have had most modern shocks, apart from the Vivid air.

actually, could you explain in which ways the X2 improves on the Debonair? Can you also compare it to the CCDBA? I'm in the market for a new shock, I think, and I'm not sure I need to go all the way to a DH-shock for my trail bike. My DH runs are not that long, and I rarely do enduro races. But I'm a heavy guy (215) and my trails are chunky... and I like to go fast on my short dh runs!

You've been living in that place a while now. You really gotta get some furniture man.
Dude I am a photographer shooting bike crap and other sporting goods. Meaning I make jack crap for $$$$ its just the lights and white walls. I am taking donations now. The money will go to purchase myself an Ultima in the 1250HP variant....
