Emotional win, so stoked on the whole podium.

I'm calling it now - Bruni will be snapped up by the Syndicate at some point.

Thats awesome that Bruni pulled a win on the BIG DAY no less. With a 2 second lead as well...that means he was 5 seconds faster than RATTY in 3rd. How many World Champs have the French won? It has to be close to 30 in DH alone....

When Loic took the lead from Minnaar, did anybody else immediately think to themselves "Alright, looks like either Gwin or Troy is going to win and the other one is going to crash, thus making Loic 2nd again?"

I rooted for Minnaar. Stoked to see him take 2nd. Bummed on Hill's crash. I guess he wasn't ready for such a demandig track yet... Is he the current OTB champion yet?

I know I'm going to get a lot of crap for this, but I kinda smiled when Gwinn hit the ground. I know he's been the fastest guy in the circuit this year, but the whole 'murica-tattoo-on-penis thing kind of prevented me from wishing him well.

Anyway, given the number of crashes, I guess this track sets the bar when it comes to gnarniness.

I didn't smile when he crashed, but I do think the idea of an American flag tattooed on a penis is pretty hilarious.

Also, the crashes were pretty intense, so many double scorpion tomahawks. People weren't just sliding out for the most part, but faceplanting and javelining into the ground.

Epic racing. I don't think I've ever seen so many of the top guys crash but I suppose they always put it on the line for Champs. Hope no one got seriously hurt though - Gee took long enough to get up that I thought he wasn't going to.

Awesome result for Loic and a good end to what must have been a super frustrating year for him.

Arrgh, not being a native English speaker sucks so bad. I should have thought 100 times before writing that. I didn't feel good for Gwinn biting the dust, I just got happy for Bruni and Minnaar.

Like many others said before, Bruni's win was the best in terms of inaugurating his victory record.

Then again, what if next year the tracks start looking more and more like Andorra? Should we get used to having more catastrophic injuries, or would the riders step up and improve themselves?

11th gold for france,

bruni is 4th frenchie ---> gachet, nico x 7, fab x 2, bruni

smart riding wins ! Bruni's right side off the bridge short cut trumps GM's 4+ sec advantage all out sprint at split 1.

Mike Jones though - 25th at the first split, ended up 4th. Must have murdered the rest of the track.

Stoked on the whole podium, especially the bryceland/bruni arse slapping fiasco and slomo replay of it. Lots of emotions and genuine good vibes from some genuinely good people.

Gwin has never struck me as an "over the top rah rah 'muricah" type of guy. Patriotic, sure. Proud, sure, but he's pretty classy about it. I'm stoked he slid out, but only because it show's he was going for checkers or wreckers. That, and it can get a bit boring when the same person wins over and over again. The fact I'm half french doesn't hurt either.... actually that didn't matter, anyone in the world can get behind the stoke and sheer happiness Bruni felt at getting this win. He's worked so hard, and been up there for so long. it was awesome to see his reaction.

Rachel's headcam run of the race shows how truly difficult the track was. Not a knock on Redbull, because I realize the nature of the track made it difficult to get cameras up there, but the camera placement of the live feed didn't do the track justice. Or capture the riders at their most brilliant.

I'm elated at the result, but pretty bummed the season is over. Is it 2016 yet?

Now I'm about to go ride in a steam bath with a bunch of hammerheads. Not sure it's worth it, but oh well... summer's almost over, got to get out there while I still can.

Despite Bryceland's casual style I think this time he was really just enjoying the run and playing it safe. He definitely wouldn't want to spend the off-season in rehab again and I'd assume those bad memories from Hafjell played a role here. Getting bronze under these circumstances though...imagine the possibilities.

Hard to really say Gwin isn't into world champs. Last year he had a broken hand, year before that his brakes failed etc. He's had a pretty extensive line of bad luck.

Either way, I've always felt like world champs is kind of a bullshit idea - winning a world cup overall takes a hell of a lot more consistency and skill, and I'm inclined to agree with Rachel and Gwin on that one.

That said, while I'm a huge Gwin fanboy, I'd say Minnaar has pretty thoroughly cemented himself as the best DH rider ever - it doesn't matter what kind of trail it is or what conditions it is, he's extremely good and extremely consistent.

I think you;d have to be crazy to not be a gwin fan, he's a good guy, does all the right things, and rides amazing.

That said, I've been pulling for minaar all year, I have always liked the santa cruz boys and minaar is old like me, so I wanted to see him do it (overall and world champs) for all us old fuckers.

clipped a pedal, there's go pro footage out there from gee's run, looked "sudden" as with most pedal clips, also looked like it hurt like hell.

it more seems like different strokes for different folks. nico used the whole wc season to tune up for the champs, where gwin seems to be more into winning the overall.

would you rather put in the best record in the regular season, or win the playoffs?
