Yesterday's eBay transaction did not go well. The MO based buyer has his Aurora based sister pick up the tires. She took them to FedEx, where the highly car knowledgable shipping staff told her two were at 2/32" and two at 6/32".

I find this hard to believe: they came off at 12,000 miles! Return initiated duly, and I hope the tires have returned to the alley by my garage as requested. Selling something advertised truthfully as used and documented in the ad with pictures should not be such a pain in the ass, but I suppose it's inevitable when one is dealing with the kind of people who buy used tires.

In hell. Welcome!
Morning. Where's the summer gone? Rain and cold temps here.
Got my ass whooped at Harold Parker by a group that rides hard and fast. I am just wicked slow when rocks are greasy. Now on to the afternoon ride with Sandwich, if weather allows.

Working to finish up a project that me awesome coworkers failed to finish on friday. Left some pretty harshly worded voicemails yesterday, none of which were responded to. Going to have a pretty frank conversation with my boss Monday morning.

Spent the afternoon at a lunch thing at the local Subaru specialty shop. Took my bike to the meet-up and went riding right after.

It is damn cold out up here. I rode in a hoodie and I barely broke a sweat. Normally I am sweating balls, even if its cold out.

I must say, I love my bike. Every single time that I ride it, is gives me this dirty pleasureful feeling on the inside...sometimes on the outside. :brows:

Ran a half marathon in 1:36:37 today, which was about four minutes slower than my goal, which is a metric shitload in a race that distance. It was warm and humid and windy and I got a cramp and excuses excuses excuses. I did finish 60 out of 1475 overall, which is technically my highest placement percentage-wise (top 4%) out of my 17 half marathons. So I guess it wasn't all bad. And bro, that is a cool story.

My work here is done. Got the rig all set up for my wife to head off to Championships on Wed. We loaded up all the gear and horses and went for a test drive. Ruth loved how well it all handled. My geusstimate is 20,000 pounds combined weight, 57 feet long and 12 feet high.

What kind of people buy used tires on ebay?

Not being being a fortunate son I am unable to see the difference between those who want to save a buck by buying used tires and those who need money bad enough to actually sell used tires on ebay... the benefit to effort ratio seems pretty low for all involved.

I currently have the original set if tires from my 2007 Subaru with less than 3K on them. I'm going to earn myself some good karma and give them to someone who needs them and is not expecting them.

I'm going to take all 8 used tires in my garage (the all seasons off both of my vehicles--running snow tires now) and recycle them at Discount Tire tomorrow morning. You're right: it's not worth the hassle at this point.

When we moved here last year I had a fairly pristine set of snow tires for the already-sold-by-then Prius. Those sold in 1 day on Craigslist for $160 for the set, iirc. That was worth the effort, not this.

I'm beginning to think giving tires to the needy may also be chore, short of Big O, many charities sell decent sets of used tires in the $80 range so they'll eventually do someone some good. Roll on.

Goodwill doesn't take tires. This place would recycle the low tread ones and pay me for the good ones: http://go-green-tires.com/tire-info/ ... but they're 30 minutes away with no traffic.

Nope. To Discount Tire and their recycling bin they shall go.
