I'm all for riding stupid stuff. Wish I could see video. People's descriptions of it make it sound way too sketch. Then again, I've ridden trails where guys were like "That trail would be impossible to right clipless on" and well....it wasn't. :D

Let's see some more pics of it.
:stupid:

Yes, I'm a noob around here but one of my favorite trails is known "locally" as "so technical it isn't even fun" Yet I loved it and rode it on a XC bike until I could get a full suspension bike.

Not gonna lie, this trail looks serious, and I would venture to say it's above my skill level at this time, but I'd certainly love to give it a go!

I'm a hardcore dude, but this scares the crap out of me. Yet at the same time, I want to try and ride it.

Chest beating aside, it's not unrideable - it's just hard, intimidating and if you do mess up you could get seriously hurt, there are plenty of places where you could easily fall quite a long way (10ft plus) onto rocks/logs/trees. That chute in the pic is one of the gnarliest looking parts, but actually easier to ride than some of the others, your wheels track over those roots relatively easily, the off-camber corner at the bottom is more of a worry than the roots themselves IMO.

I am not the world's best rider, but I can hold my own. When look at pics of that trail, I know that the camera does it no justice at all. I also know that talk is cheap. I'd be willing to bet that 99% of everybody on here would crap themselves if they had to ride that trail. Tech in BC has a WHOLE different meaning than it does anywhere else. The stuff that gets labeled XC here (take 7th Secret, for example) is "super gnar" almost anywhere else.

If you were to really get to the trail, you might tough it out and be all stoic, sure, but you would be crying on the inside.

As for me, I'll stick to Goats Gully or Cypress - both of which are super fun, BTW. That stuff is more than enough for me at the moment.

I conquer. Devils Club has gotta be up there too, that thing is horrible.

You gotta be joking... sure after you've ridden it a few times it loses its appeal a bit but man it's just a good fun trail. Do some jumps, smash some berms, how can that be anything but fun?

When you coach in whistler, all you hear all summer long...

"Can we ride A-line, Can we ride A-line,
Can we ride A-line, Can we ride A-line,
Can we ride A-line, Can we ride A-line,
Can we ride A-line, Can we ride A-line,
Can we ride A-line, Can we ride A-line,
Can we ride A-line, Can we ride A-line,
Can we ride A-line, Can we ride A-line,
Can we ride A-line, Can we ride A-line,
Can we ride A-line, Can we ride A-line?"

Trust me, that trail gets old quick. Plus I'm a DH guy, I would much rather ride roots and rocks, then cruise down sidewalk.

hahahah, no doubt kyle....but you have to admit, that late season rebuild was the stuff dreams are made of....I been here for 7 years now, and it's far and away the best it's ever been....I probably rode a-line 75% of my runs on that closing weekend, and that's the first time I've been like that on there! the past few years it's probably been my least favourite trail....heh heh...anyway yeah, it's all good, except clownshoes, it still sucks.... ;)

hahah ok, well I haven't had that kind of exposure to it, but I've been here all summer and found it pretty good fun, especially after they rebuilt it and made some of those big hips long enough so you didn't jump 30ft to flat by mistake. It's nowhere near the best trail on the mountain, but even as someone who completely sucks at jumping (I don't dirtjump or anything, struggle to ride the slalom track) it's a good way to have a relaxing roll down the hill. I too much prefer "real" DH but there's a reason that trail is so popular - it's fun.

Actually I think the best track I've ridden here is the one in the pics with the creek gap, like a mini Ride Don't Slide but way less chewed out and with a more consistent gradient instead of being OMFG STEEP then flat then OMFG STEEP then flat etc.

Yeah, the rebuild was pretty sick. Good job WBP!

I don't care if it was a bunch of A-lines though, the people, the village, the races, the parties, make whistler what it is, even moreso than the trails. I miss everyone from up there and I'll be back next year.

Todd, now that I'm just south of the border, I'll have to come up for some winter fun. care to tour guide me some day?

It's a fun trail no doubt, probably one of the better trails I rode there, especially since it was nice and tacky. I think I might have seen the case mark you put in that landing on the creek gap this summer, kept me from trying it that's for sure! Great pics BTW.

I doubt you saw my case marks, I only did that about a week ago (day or two before I put the pics up). Out of everyone I know of who's hit it, everyone's had the same result as me (or worse), it really needs a bigger lip.
