1. If you want a pretty good laugh, read this post start to finish, many people were very far off on their guesses.

2. I'm still waiting for a call. I still believe that my applications have been lost.

I predict, I will not get signed by a world cup team this year. I believe my application was lost.

so where does this fit?

http://www.pinkbike.com/news/john-hall-interview-gwinning-mechanic-2015.html

I thought that Hall has been with Specialized forever... Why post a huge article about your mechanic's relationship with his rider ("looking forward to many more years") if your rider is leaving... Plus the article has specialized gear/bikes splashed all over it...
I don't think now that gwin and specialized have finally gotten dialed in together would he leave. I think he's going to stick around for a bit, especially while he remains at the top of the game.

I can't think of any good reason for specialized to not have him on the web page. Maybe it's his own team, on specialized bikes??

gwin has his own unique thing going on with his sponsors. S seemingly now requires their riders in 100% S gear head to toe. i'm going with the 'team gwin pics what he wants and runs it' anti-rumor.

well he was just getting "dialed" with Trek before he left
Indeed, but he also wasn't the multi time world cup champ like he is now. Why go through all of that development again when he's being paid like he is now? Someone else might throw more money at him, like we all assume the Big S did to lure him away from trek, but after going through the make this bike work for me development and the off years on the demo, why go through that again when you don't have to and you're in your prime?

He may do it, but i just don't see it, but I'm also not right very often.

from Jared via the pink bikes:

- Yeti's focus is 100% on Enduro, as is Richies, If you hold your breath waiting for a World Cup DH team to start up, you will definitely pass out. But Richie is keen on doing some DH racing, as am I if the calendar permits, and you can prepare to be competitive. Both Richie and Myself arent interested in racing World Cup DH for shits and giggles.

in a single wide, cooking meth...
Two out of his now three total ain't good enough for you? Those first two were on trek.

That dude had plenty of leverage of his own when he left. He used it.

edit: akkordin' to this here wiki, he's actually the first ever murkin uci world cup champ.

Dayum, is that right?

Well, to be fair, us Freedomers were too busy collaborating with the Canucks on freeriding, which meant pushing designs from Karpiel Apocalypses to Knolly V-tachs. We didn't have time to worry about going fast, especially when there were cedar ladders to be ridden, hucks to be dropped to flat, steep rock faces to skid down, and plaid flannels to be worn while riding (and developing a novel bike storage system - now known as the "High Speed Lander Repository").

Now that the whole freeride thing has been addressed, we've now focused our attention on mph's, which has resulted in Gwinning and one Mr. Chainsaw.

As for the possibility of Gwin returning to Trek, I will just leave this here -

Once again, I've probably said too much...
