Anneke Beerten is off S and onto GT

"With all the social media these day's I would almost forgot that I still have a website to update :) Happy new year... Better late then never right?! Im excited to announce that I will be riding for the GT Factory racing team this season. Ive been spending most of my off season time in California training, enjoying the sun and just having fun on any kind of 2 wheels. I can't believe it is only 9 more weeks until the first race!! loving GT's move this season. The Athertons moving has made space for a whole buttload of talent to step in. Also, except for Anneke, none of the riders are expected to actually win... with Gee and Rachel not winning was a disaster, with sam Dale, Brook and Wyn the expectations are a little lower, whilst being more fun to watch and having more personallity.

Good effort GT.

I don't know... Sam and Brook have had pretty decent results in the past. Both have podiumed. Wyn has been consistently climbing the ranks and has broken into the top 20 hasn't he? There's definitely room for improvement there with the right support. I think they have a good shot at podiums next year (or the year after that, as the athletes settle into their program). Maybe even several riders on one podium...

All this to say, I agree... good effort GT!

yeah I didn't quite word myself correctly. GT will definitely be hoping for podiums from their new riders, but with Gee and Rachel if they weren't first they may as well have been last (in their eyes at least)

Also KTM sponsored Ronnie Renner was on a GT at Fontana, Gwin on the GT too perchance?

That's a pretty big stretch. I'd bet a few shekels against it.

Don't forget Brook won in Val d'Isere in 2012. Pretty sweet win too, one of the gnarlier tracks in recent memory and on flat pedals to boot. Wyn and Sam can be top 20 regs with chances at the podium. Either way, GT has the coolest team by far and now I will actually pay attention to the GT team articles/videos when they pop up. I can't say I will be doing the same for the Athertons. I'd be interested to know the GT gravity bike sales after the race season compared to last season, does the Serious Squad sell more bikes or do the Loose Cunts?

A few weeks ago a rumor went out that for the year 2016, Aaron Gwin was going be riding for YT, the German mountain bike company that is now sponsoring Cam Zink. We sent an e-mail to our contacts at YT to see if they could confirm the report. YT wrote back and said they couldn’t comment on the matter. We also called and texted Aaron Gwin to see if he could tell us what kind of bike he’d be riding next. Gwin said he couldn’t tell us anything for a few more weeks. Today, longtime Mountain Bike Action staffer Zapata Espinoza returned to California after spending the weekend at the Cyclocross National Championships, and Zap tells us that Gwin will be riding for YT. Zap says he can’t tell us who told him, but Zap says it’s definite: Gwin is riding for YT in 2016.

Levy:You had a great - and eventful - 2015 but have changed teams regardless. What sort of factors do you keep in mind when considering signing for a company?

Gwin: Apart from monetary compensation, which I've already discussed, there's a few other factors that I always look at. First, the bike has to be able to win races. It doesn't necessarily have to be the best bike at the time, but it does have to be a solid start, and I have to believe that I can win on the bike. Concordantly, I have to believe that the brand is willing to accept and value my feedback in order to make the proper improvements that will result in the best bike on the market. Almost equally important is the company's social vibe. By vibe, I'm referring to an overall direction, image, style, etc. To accurately sum it up, I value a consistently professional relationship that is both cordial and enjoyable during obligatory cultural activities. Haha!

Soooooo, due to this "social media" stuff, I like totally went to the source. Cause like, I'm friends with Gwin and every thing else like that!

So I'm like, "Ya know what? I'm gonna find out!"
So like, my BFF (ex boyfriend! OMG! He's still so cute!) he like, went to his like 20 year-or-something class reunion...
So like his ex-best-friend knows this guy who used to be "pop" with the crowd. (Like, he's cute and stuff too... But not as cute as my ex).
And like, he said that he heard this rumor, like, from his friend, and was totally like, "Yeah!"


So there you have it, right from the horses mouth! Gwin is with YT indefinitely!
