Commencal USA is selling the frames only for super cheap. $999 for one with a Monarch RC3 w/Debonair can. $699 if you want to provide your own shock. The numbers look pretty good for my tastes, 65 degree HA, 435mm reach for a large, seat tube angle could be a little steeper(73) but at a price like that I can deal with it. Has any body here ridden one?

I have heard of a few durability issues with that particular frame, but if it comes from Commencal new-old-stock with a warranty and you're still down with 26" wheels, I say fuck it and go for it. Absolute worst-case scenario, you break it and you get upgraded into a new Meta V4.

Otherwise, solid bike and you're not gonna be bummed especially for the price.

I know Commencal offers 5 year warranties on their frames, do you think they may not apply to NOS? Hope so. I haven't heard about any of the durability issues. was it particularly bad? I'd hate to get it all built up and then something go wrong, and then be replaced with a 27.5 frame, forcing me to spend the money on all the conversion parts. Regardless, I think i'll take that chance. It will be nice to have a proper trail bike, I'm still on a 6 Point!

Might want to snatch up one of those since 26" frames are turning into mythical unicorns.

How much travel does it have ?

I've heard of a few durability issues too, so make sure the warranty is valid and kept intact.

They have pretty good suspension and geometry. I think the seat angle looks quite good as well, the number isn't really relevant (it's a virtual measurement unfortunately as I've mentioned in a few other places). The Meta SX is better than average for sure.

I think with all black parts, you'd have a pretty killer looking ride

I am lookingfor a new frame but the color and shaky durability put me off. I am looking for a used Canfield Balance or a Banshee Rune. I'm a fairly big guy at 6'3 and not the smoothest so I want something that will last

To any one curious about the warranty....The warranty is still valid on the frame. Bad news, if you have it painted, the warranty in invalidated. This puts me in a curious situation. I absolutely love the design of the paint job, it looks really rad. If only the pink was red, or black, or yellow, or anything but bright fluorescent pink

If the only thing stopping you is the color, just ride a bunch & get faster. Nobody's gonna talk shit on a dude with a pink bike if he's blasting by them throwing bow-legged whips or whatever.

Source: I used to have a bright-ass neon pink bike and didn't give a fuck what people thought

That.

One of my bikes is pink and purple. Anyone who cares can fuck off.

I've thought about wrapping it if it really bothers me that badly. but then if the frame were to break i wouldn't notice because it would be covered up in tape/stickers

Seriously, who gives a fuck what color a bike is.
Mines fluo yellow. Its fucking hideous.
Yeah really.

Think you have problems, I have to ride a Spitty that is not black. That's right it's the wrong color, because there is no other appropriate color for a mountain bike. Oh I could have had a black frame, if I wanted to wait until mid summer. But I wanna ride damnit !

I feel your pain. I had to ride a grey Prophet for two years. Leaving aside the fact it was a Prophet, I was really ashamed of being seen in a not black bike.
