I hear POC, Raceface, alpinestars, dainese, Leatt, 661, IXS and other brand employees also have high opinions of the products they represent.

Looking at 661 EVO knee pads.
Anyone have any experience with them
Yes; 3-plus seasons-worth now. I got them initially to wear under race pants but they since also became my go-to for aggressive trail-riding too. Sizing runs true to the charts; D30 works as advertised (although I'd still opt for hard-shell for lots of sharp, hard rock); and they stay in place.

The upper (thigh) strap is particularly good at keeping them in place and the hole at the back of the knee keeps sweat from accumulating and giving me a rash back there. They are comfortable enough to wear off the bike for a midday break and keep wearing all day riding.

I shouldn't be saying any of this, as I should be in all-7iDP now (which I am for the most part); but you asked and it's the truth.

I have no idea where I am
Thanks for that. I had a similar experience with the Control elbows last season. Moral of the story seems to be when in doubt, err to the smaller size.
Ordered the 7iDP Medium Flex-Knee and they are quite snug. But from reviews I've read they will hopefully loosen up a wee bit.

These pads are well thought out and appear to be able to take a hit. Whacked myself in the knee with a large mallet. Hard cap works.

@Da Peach Who long did it take for them to break in ?

I'd say 5 x 2hr rides or so.

Quite comfy now.
