Scary fast, I agree. I just think Brunis on another level on this track. I hope I'm wrong!
Actually, I really hope to see a mindblowing run from a few other riders aswell. A lot of people looked like playing it safe due to the awfull conditions.

Brosnan looks so light on the bike. Such a pleasure to watch.

Yeah, Stevie!

Well, sh!t. Congrats to Gwin and YT for winning the first WC the bike was ridden in a WC race.

Can't believe Bruni lost it. Too much on the edge he was. But what a great rider!

Yet again, Loic throws it away. Dude has a problem with destroying a track, but deciding to take a dirt sample along the way. Wish he would stop that particular habit.

Pretty cool to see Gwin on top, as much as I was cheering for Bruni. It must also be amazing to come out ahead of the two other bikes he used to ride on... and what tires was he on?

I wonder what happened to Ratboy. All of his splits were good except the first one and he looked pinned up there.

That fuckin slide out save and still keeping almost 3s on Gwin?!? So insanely fast, but I guess that's where the experience and composure to slow down a bit come in. Once Bruni hits that middle ground I don't think anyone stands a chance!

Such a sick race, stoked for Gwin, class act admitting that it was Loics race. Super psyched to see Smith back on the podium! :headbang:

And nothing his mechanic says makes sense! He must be trolling the mountain bike Internet.

YT (WhiTey) wins a WC first time out with American home-boy Aaron Gwin on board? Must be a racial conspiracy.

He seemed to really need to boost that bridge jump to barely clean it so maybe he had a slip up there?

I was wondering when I saw that. I wonder if he made a mistake we didn't see, and then showboated the rest of the way down. He was throwing whips on the big features too...

I was thinking that slip off got Loic out of concentración. He went over revved after that and ended up eating dirt.

I wonder what would had happened if radio communication with the pits was allowed. Imagine his manager telling him to take it easy after his slip since he still had almost 2s on Gwin.

Anyway, it all adds to the WC drama. This season is going to be epic! I honestly thought Gwin would be like Rachel with the girls, on a different league, after watching his run. If Loic handles the pressure, every new round will be a showdown.

If you look at Ratboys splits after the first bad one it seems like he wasn't so out of touch either. The only difference is he made his mistake early instead of late like Loic.

Agreed. The course had an extra mental component, and a few sectors which could easily mess you up, such as the famous wall, or that big rock middle course. The time differences in the first third if the track sealed the deal for most of the riders, but Ratboy stomped the pedals in the second section.

Minnaar looked out of focus through his whole run, I was certainly expecting more from him and Hill.

I am shocked that noone talks about this Pierron guy. Gwin won - cool, no surprise. Some guy comes from nowhere and takes 5th place on the 1st worldcup this season and noone gives a s***. WTF?

The X0 DH crankset provides a level of crank stiffness and reliability for the most aggressive terrain. The sub-800g carbon crank has been developed and proven by top World Cup pros in the most extreme conditions imaginable.
I broke the XO crank on my nomad today when I came up short gapping a rock garden. Sheared 3 splines off the non-drive side followed by crank bolt stripping out the spindle. No damage on BB splines so not caused by loose crank.

That sounds gnarly. Hope you didn't wreck yourself in the process.
