I agree with most of this, as it seems like Rat had something happen based on his first split (he also apparently set it down in qualis and still managed a great time). But I would add Chainsaw and T-Broz to this list. The Man of Stihl is finally healthy and should get a big shot of confidence with a podium spot - he also got faster as the season progressed in 2013. Plus, if he shaves off the lumberjack beard and brings back the Molest-stache, look out. T-Broz was basically the fastest guy on the circuit in the latter part of the season last year based on a lot of splits before he unfortunately dumped it in somewhere. Also sounded like he was a little dinged up with a "sore" ankle, to say nothing of his relatively recent shoulder injury (which I still bet isn't 100% despite what he said).
Looking forward to seeing the boys mix it up in the jungle, surrounded by all manner of pre-cambian venomous critters, in a couple weeks.
I watched some rider's runs again and yea, he looked scary fast and nearly out of control where there were cameras. I wonder what happened for him to fall back so far.
I'm just going off what what was on camera and what I could see in the riding. Smith and Brosnan just looked really well composed and solid.
Those other three......just looked like the track wasn't there. They were going and it just so happened a bike was coming with them. There was nothing their bikes did that wasn't a part of their very well centered body.
I was watching live, and when he just boosted over that first chute that kept bucking people, I was sure he was going to be faster than he was. Dude was charging.

Imo, Brosnan is also hovering like otherwise only these three guys were. That kid is so damn light on the bike, really a pleasure to watch.
Also, Ratty has a completely diffenrent riding style compared to the others, with a in relation to his height small bike. Way more active looking.
