You definitely should NOT have posted this picture.
I'm trying to build myself up financially, you know.
How inconsiderate.

Funny, I'm going to sell my P3 in favor of this, too...

John P., whats going on? When can I buy this frame? (notice the absence of "how much is it" ;) )

I'm pretty sure there is only 25 being made, so if you want one you may want to give JohnP a call. As fast as the regular Imperials sell out, these will NOT last long.

Whats the deal with the great bikes with short production runs? (Yeti 4X, Turner Rail, and now this).

Why? I'm sure this thing can outsell the regular Imperial by much, even just for the sane seat angle. Actually, that's the only thing I won't buy an Imperial for.

Hey guys, bumping this thread from the dead because I need a bit of help. I was lucky enough to find a great condition Imperial SL over the winter as half garage art half bike for my GF who is 5'3. My only problem in building it right now is I need to figure out this whole rear hub situation.

If anyone remembers they were 14mm dropouts but had an optional QR dropout. Someone doesn't happen to have one of those old QR dropouts around do they? I am trying to build it up as a 1x for her and am having trouble getting a hub setup I can put a cassette on. If there aren't any drops out there, any hub recommendations? I think the guy before me did a reducer on the hub to keep it snug...Thoughts?

If anyone remembers they were 14mm dropouts

Remember the good old days when there weren't a bunch of different 'standards?'

Bumping threads with posts from SSaddict should also come with trigger warnings. Some of us are sensitive like that.

On a more productive note, what was the spacing of those 14mm axles? Hadley had all kinds of weird sizes available with adapters. I've got 12, 15 and 20. You might be able to find a 14mm?

Ha well put.

This one is 135x14 def a freak no matter which era. Was thinking about getting a good ol 3/8" bolt on hub and putting those bmx axle spacers on it essentially make it a 14mm.

Hadley is a good call.

Holy hell, you are a wizard. All these years and I have still not owned a Hadley, guess it's time...always been a king/hope/i9 guy...

Owning a 20mm axle dh frame had a lot to do with knowing that ;)

They were keeping up with dh frame evolution when i9 didn't exist yet, and chris king was just making xc bike hubs that wouldn't stay tight. Sucks if you have to buy a new hub, but it might be easier than tracking down old dropouts.

Yes that will totally do it. I agree i really don't want to buy a hub right now as this bike isnt going to get a ton of use. Although if I get a hadely I'll know that I won't have to worry about finding another some day.

What the hell is going on here.

14mm axle, Imperial SL... next you're going to be talking about 4x and Dual.
