Crushed the sharks last weekend. I got 3 and the biggest at 74". My nephew got 2 right at 63" and another buddy got 6 total and one at 64.
Kayak the bait out, drop, return to shore drink beers.

ah, excellent. carry on.
My fish are only out of the water aboot a minute and a half to two minutes. Just long enough to remove the hook, measure and snap a couple of pic's. My buddy actually tags them and has to do a couple of extra measurements for tracking but his are out less than three. In the year i've been doing this and the three of his that i know of we've never lost one. He will occasionally eat one but it's too much hassle for me.

Thanks for explaining. My one uncle is a dive instructor / cop down in florida. He still sees a lot of people catching sharks just for trophies. sad. I've seen a few up close when diving myself, really really impressive creatures.

trash texas all you like :) but we have a pretty good shark culture down here. I don't know anyone catchking and just killing them any more. I think these are great creatures and I do enjoy catching (and releasing) them but if i thought i was doing any real harm i wouldnt do it.

Up here in PA deer hunting is huge. Vast majority will butcher and eat what they bag, or donate to butcher shops. Have met a few nutjobs who just hunt for trophy, and a couple who outright admit they just want to kill something.
