where the trails are
I got a new Float 40 and after the first day I'm in tweaky better setup mode ...

me: 190lbs, 0 world cup podiums to date, probably at the upper end of mediocre.
air: 77-78 psi = about 25% sag
lsc: 6 from open
hsc: 12 from open
rebound: yes
red 10cc volume reducers: 4 installed

So the fork feels really good as above but there was a few times where I imagine I should have bottomed and maybe had 30-40mm of travel left unused. I didn't have tools at the hill but I removed one of the volume spacers last night to make the end stroke a bit less progressive.

Anyone with the Float here? Care to share setup tips?

2014 fox float 40
180 lbs.
75 psi
3 spacers below plunger, 5 spacers above, no volume reduction spacers
rebound - some.
High speed compression 6-8 click + from full -
Low speed compression 3-4 clicks + from full -

I adjust compression based on feel, usually opening it up fully for my first practice run and then adding a few clicks as I start riding faster/get warmed up. I usually end up with 2x as many High speed clicks as low speed clicks. No Rhyme or reason, it's just what feels right for me.

I have zero world cup podiums to date. cat 1 30-39

wife
140lbs
55 psi
4 spacers above plunger, 4 spacers below
rebound - some
high speed compression 2 clicks from full -
Low speed, zero clicks from full - (turned all the way counter clockwise)

HELLO! Also? BUMPity.

Got a 2015 Float Fit 40 RC2 Factory Fandango Fapparoo.

Clueless on the clicks, running mostly centered Feels great until I get chunky then it feels too harsh.
Me ~220 in gear

80psi
15 clicks from CLOSED LSC
14 clicks from CLOSED HSC
5 clicks from CLOSED R/LSR

I think that translates to 11, 8, ?. (LSC, HSC, R) from OPEN.

No idea on the spacer/plunger situation until I open her up this evening.

Not a monster, just like to smash trails a bit.

I think too much, someone help.

80 psi seems low at that weight and relying a lot on compression. My fork rarely feels harsh and I am running closer to 75 psi and down to 170 this year.

Try adding some air, running compression closer to open and adjusting volume spacers to make fork slightly more progressive. At least that's the mindset I have taken with mine and it seems to be plush when I want it to be, firm when I need it to be, and rides up in the travel and rarely bottoms
