Anyone else watch this? The wife and I Netflix binged it and have to say it was pretty good. Interested to see when the next season comes out.

Ever since we switched to Directv the wife has been filling the DVR with all sorts of crap. She has found about 6 more shows she needs to watch. :panic:

My sister was talking about it this weekend, I might check it out if I have time.

Good show. It's only 8 episodes. Sci/fi drama, but they do a good job with keeping the story interesting and developing the characters.

I'm still only half way through season 2 of silcon valley. But it is more like reality tv than anything else.

the one good thing i have read about tv in the last 6 months is that hannibal might be back for a fourth season in 2017...

Wife and I finished watching it last night. I enjoyed it. I was waiting for a "turn it up to 11" joke, but one never came.

"turn it up to 11" ha ha ha. I thought it was really good. they did the 80's theme well. But wtf happened to the kid at the end? Is he turning into a monster or did he shit one out his mouth? Im glad barb died, prudish bitch.

I watched it over Sunday-Monday of this week. No real expectations, but gave it a go and really enjoyed it.

The music added a lot to it, I think...

@junkyard he definitely went all aliens or perhaps puppet master or something and shit one out of his mouth.

I saw the first two episodes last night and we'll probably watch more. Also watched all available Mr Robot episodes recently - even better.

Mr. Robot is good as well. Need to catch up with that.
:stupid:

It got too geeky for the wife, but I love it. The amount of work they have put into the tech is amazing. The show went to great lengths to be as legit as possible (no 3D UNIX OS like in Jurassic Park).

Loved it. Closest a series has come to breaking bad IMO.
The music is such a great fit and adds a lot.
I'm thinking Eleven isn't dead, and that the kid (Will?) is going to turn into one of the monsters, albeit more slowly than if they hadn't saved him.

It's definitely sci-fi type stuff, but the acting is well done and the overall arc of the story is really good, especially in just 8 episodes.

FWIW, saw Hell or High Water last night in the theater and that was damn good.

Watching the first episode. Two minutes in, first problem:

BMX bikes are wrong models for the era. Modern frames, microdrive, wide bars. All wrong.

It's like what Fast & Furious does for car people.

I'm guessing there just comes a point where they realize 99.99999% of the population won't know the difference or care. Or they (show makers) don't know the difference or care.

it was very distracting for me. it was also something i picked up on almost immediately.
I had this same issue and my wife made fun of me for it. I stuck with it @kazlx 's insisting it didn't suck and he was quite right. It took a bit to get into it, but I was sucked in and we blew threw it in a couple days.

<edit> in contrast, Mr Robot spends a ton of money and many hours on screens that are only on screen for a few seconds because they know people will pause and look at what is being typed and what commands are being run. They are correct and have gotten bonus points for being accurate.

it's something that's easy and cheap enough there's really no excuse. ESPECIALLY since there are 1 or 2 period correct bikes alongside them in the show.

they even took one of the modern bikes and put a banana seat on it. that's not even half assing, that's quarter assing it at best.

Oh, I totally agree! My neighbor works in the "industry" and heard they had a low amount of dough for period age props, like 250K, but still....

Disagree, prices are going up due to said people in groups like BMX Museum. I have not seen many vintage bikes below 300, and even those need work.

point being they could have done better at a thrift store than with something that's clearly been made in the last 5 years.
