Not all sports players and fans are mouth breathers who hate the Constitution and true American democracy. It's amazing how many brainless nationalists/fake patriots there are out there:

If you know anyone who actually hates real democracy but thinks they're good Americans tell them they should have paid attention in civics - https://www.law.cornell.edu/supremecourt/text/319/624

Not the only trash in Hollywood

Lohan sued under New York’s version of a right of publicity statute, claiming that Grand Theft Auto V had misappropriated her likeness with a character named “Lacey Jonas,” who eludes paparazzi. She further alleged that the game had references to her star turn in Mean Girls and the West Hollywood hotel where she once lived, and that the publisher in merchandise has “used a look-alike model to evoke the persona and image” of Lohan by imitating a photograph that was once taken of her in 2007.

Rather surprisingly, given New York’s narrow law and Lohan’s past legal losses, a judge rejected a motion to dismiss in March.

Phyllis Schlafly, prominent anti-feminist and early leader of the social conservative movement, has died at 92.

http://www.cnn.com/2016/09/05/politics/phyllis-schlafly-dead/index.html?adkey=bn

Washington (CNN)Phyllis Schlafly, a prominent anti-feminist and early leader of the social conservative movement, died Monday at the age of 92 at her home in St. Louis.

Schlafly, an outspoken voice against the liberalism of the 1960's and 1970's, was a towering figure in what emerged as the modern religious right. Her death was confirmed by the Eagle Forum, the Missouri-based advocacy organization she led.
"Her focus from her earliest days until her final ones was protecting the family, which she understood as the building block of life. She recognized America as the greatest political embodiment of those values," the statement read. "From military superiority and defense to immigration and trade; from unborn life to the nuclear family and parenthood, Phyllis Schlafly was a courageous and articulate voice for common sense and traditional values."
Schlafly was most well-known for her work fighting the Equal Rights Amendment in the 1970's, emerging as one of the leading female critics of the feminist movement.
Schlafly, until her death, remained in the political arena and recently made the case for electing Donald Trump president. On Monday night the Republican nominee eulogized Schlafly in a statement.
"Phyllis Schlafly is a conservative icon who led millions to action, reshaped the conservative movement, and fearlessly battled globalism and the 'kingmakers' on behalf of America's workers and families," Trump said. "I was honored to spend time with her during this campaign as she waged one more great battle for national sovereignty."
In her final days, Schlafly caused consternation among some conservatives by backing Trump.
She endorsed the billionaire at a rally in her home city of St. Louis, Missouri in March, despite the fact many of her fellow travelers in the movement don't see the Republican candidate as a true ideological conservative, likening him to Ronald Reagan.

good riddance

Apple Engineer denied job at Genius Bar.

"I'm lucky enough to get my tech support from JK Scheinberg, the engineer at Apple who led the effort that moved the Mac to Intel processors. A little restless after retiring in 2008, at 54, he figured he'd be a great fit for a position at an Apple store Genius Bar, despite being twice as old as anyone else at the group interview. 'On the way out, all three of the interviewers singled me out and said, "We'll be in touch,"' he said. 'I never heard back.'"

Is that east coast Rainier?

<edit>For those who don't know, PBR is not hipster enough for Portland, it is now Rainier or Olympia (yet it is the exact same beer as PBR since they are all owned by the same parent).
All the beers pretty much taste like nothing only they have different labels. Their summer wheat was ok when it first came out but the last time I tried it wasn't any good either.

I have lots of memories of oil cans of Oly's. Not fond memories, but memories.
