I really hope Ryan Bundy calls himself as a witness.

Jeff Banta, 47, one of the defendants, testified that he did not know his presence at the refuge was illegal. “The whole reason I went there was to stand up and let these people have a voice,” he said, speaking of ranchers living in the area.

“I only pointed my weapon at the end,” he continued, “when they came rolling in talking about taking me to jail.”
Ignorance as a defense, not a good approach.

Bundy vs Bundy

Ryan Bundy, 43, dressed in a black suit jacket and white dress shirt, asked his brother Thursday about their shared upbringing, their faith and values. But he also sought to show that he didn't know about Ammon Bundy's idea to take over the bird sanctuary until just hours before, when he found out at a morning meeting Jan. 2.

He sat beside his standby counsel and volunteer paralegal as he questioned his brother.

"Ammon Bundy had testified earlier during hours of questioning by his defense lawyer that he was inspired by God on Jan. 1 to take a "hard stand'' after not receiving any response from Harney County or state officials to repeated requests to protect the Hammonds from returning to prison."

"...not guilty of possessing a firearm in a federal facility and conspiring to impede federal workers from their job..."

Now I'm no constitutional scholar but it seems like possessing a firearm in a federal facility and gettin together to plan to impede some government workers from going to work would in fact make one guilty of the above.

That must be why law skool takes so long. Gotta lern them nuances.

Terrorism: apparently no problem, so long as you're white.

posessing a firearm in a federal facility and conspiring to impede federal workers from their jobs
A group of armed anti-government activists remained encamped at a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon on Sunday evening, vowing to occupy the outpost for years to protest the federal government’s treatment of a pair of local ranchers set to report to prison Monday... Late Saturday, the occupiers blocked the entrance of the federal headquarters with a pickup truck
Nevermind, those are totally different.

They at least touch on it there, but if these fools get cleared of that mess they created in southern Nevada, then truly, the end is nigh.

I don't know how anyone could have seen the videos of those assholes at Malheur and come to the conclusion they did. Given, the bundy bros were some of the most civil and calm but that doesn't change what they enabled, they what they actually, literally did (run out fed employees with firearms).

I'd say they let this go with the knowledge that they'll be put in jail over the Nevada incident but this was a jury who will have no connection to those upcoming hearings.

And so it begins...

Republicans have opposed Obama's use of "unilateral" executive power to create national monuments. "The establishment of any new national monument in the State of Nevada, regardless of location, ought to be considered in the public Congressional process," Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) wrote in an April letter to the president. On the Bundy ranch, Angie Bundy said that "Harry Reid has no right to be saying those things."

Front Range, dude...
Use of the term "veteran" by journalists to describe those foolish enough to partake in these idiotic happenings offends the shit out of me...they are nothing but bullies and twatwaffles who hide behind publicity and phallic symbols.
