Hi All,

In case you missed it, our Kickstarter is up and running until Jan 2, 2017:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...ull-suspension

Toward that end, we're setting up a few demo rides in a few choice locations across the U.S. on the list are SoCal, sometime in Dec, possibly Denver area in Nov.

If there are serious buyers out there in a particular area, let me know. I'm in Indianapolis, so a days drive reaches many locations.

This weekend, Nov 11, 12, 13th, I plan to haunt some local trailheads. Maybe Rangeline in Anderson IN on Fri Eve, Brown County on Sat and Ft Ben on Sun.

Drop me a line with any interest and prospective locations.

thanks,

cheers,

Brian

Hey All,

I've had requests for demo rides in the cleveland area. Wondering if the weather will hold.

Here's some comments from the last demo:

"This one of the best f*cking bikes I have ever ridden. It’s in the “one bike for pretty much everything” category."

" the bike pedaled like my hardtail, but I had traction for days."

"did not bottom out the bike at all, nor did I ever get the sense that it wasn't THE most plush bike I've ever ridden. Yet, it still pedaled as well - better? - than the best bikes I've ridden."

Will you be back in boston soon?
Right now, I'm planning a CO, UT and Socal swing in a week or two. And Puerto Rico between Christmas and New Years, right before KS ends. It's not out of the question to squeeze Boston in, depending on interest. But aren't we about out of riding season?

Too bad I didn't meet up when i was out there. I could've, but too much going on. I'd have rather gone riding....

oh ya,

Hey Everyone,

Tantrum Cycles Kickstarter has been a roaring success, nearly 99% funded with 5 weeks to go. But I want to double it!

To kick it off, I created, wait for it...the ORTHOdontist Special...the frame isn't carbon, but the rest of the bike is!. Light, fast, wicked and expensive...

but take a look at the CYBER monday deal on our kickstarter, so low, it's almost like getting the frame for free.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/812273700/tantrum-cycles-the-missing-link-in-full-suspension

thanks again to all our backers and supporters. There will be additional deals posted on Kickstarter throught the day, including upgrades for existing backers. Help me rock this thing!!

By the way, in addition to Richard Cunnningham's review here:

http://www.pinkbike.com/news/first-ride-tantrum-missing-link.html

and Zach Overholt's here:

There are some reviews from our demo rides surfacing:

They are all starting to sound similar.....

cheers,

Brian

I'll ride this if you come by Denver.
It's looking like Denver and CO Spgs the weekend of Dec 10-11. Probably come out the 8th and head to Socal on the 12th to stay thru the next weekend.

Any recommendations on location for the Denver area?

Yeah, I saw photos of that tonight. Yikes. I've only ridden Zorro and Dakota Ridge from that area myself and see no reason to seek out smoother (and now burnt to a crisp) trails.

Another option would be Deer Creek. There's decent riding even for short loops heading out from the parking lot.

I was thinking the weekend of the 10-11th, but it looks like the weather will be bad. I could go to SoCal first and try to hit CO the following weekend. Slight, slim possibility of coming out this weekend. Really slim

I'm personally out for both weekends, so I guess I have to walk back my promise to ride the thing. Time to transition to skiing!

Salt Lake and Ogden just got dumped on.
St George or Moab would be a good place to ride.
But most of our population is up north.

I'm being encouraged to go to Colorado Spgs instead. They claim trails are dry and rideable all winter.

Comments? Takers?

Well - that goes for any Front Range location.

They are dry and rideable all winter with one caveat: except when they're not.
Example from 11 days ago:

Rideable, sure, but you're not going to get regular riders out for a demo day when the trails are like that and the air's 30 degrees.

keep us updated. I'd like to ride the bike too.
Nick, where are you?

I think I'll head to Cal on the 10th and be flexible to make a trip to CO from there if the weather's good and enough interest. I only have 2 bikes, not like I'm trying to set up a demo fleet. Really looking for interested buyers for Kickstarter.

If anyone is around Indy today (wed, nov 30), I 'll have 2 bikes at ft ben this afternoon. Parking lot between the trails, Silver Tundra. I'll be testing the super secret 160 mm 29er. It's like a monster truck. Not plus tires, but man, this thing rolls.

Nick,

What do you think about Co Spgs instead of Denver area?
I will be in SoCal, starting on Sat, Dec 10, thru Sun, Dec 18, testing and doing demo rides. I'll be based in Burbank and will hit areas in a 2-3 hr radius.

I'm also going to see if I can hit Co Spgs, during or after, weather depending.

Let me know if you'd like to set up an appointment.

I'll have the standard 160 mm Meltsown and 125 mm Outburst, and alsooooo, options of a 140 and 160 mm monster Outburst. A 160 mm 29 er wheeled steam roller.

cheers,

Brian

Colorado in the middle of January? :hmm: Only dry trails MIGHT be Pueblo or GJ.

you'd be better served by hitting someplace else.
I have other reasons to be here anyway, so if I can take care of a couple customers and get a ride in, it's good.

I'll be back skiing with the fam in Feb and will probably bring a bike or 2 if the weather looks good

Can you tell us again how many customers you have and how much they love your bike?
Sure, I'm glad you asked. One guy was a kickstarter backer who bought the bike on Kickstarter, but had yet to demo it. Since he had read about it on various forums, he was concerned that where there was smoke, there was fire. He was concerned, especially, that a couple of engineering experts on Ridemonkey had decided it couldn't possibly work and would have many evil traits. He thought, "even if they were only 10% correct, I would not want this bike. And they must be at least 10% correct, right? Otherwise......."

So I really wanted him to swing a leg over. And his friend, who rode the bike the day before in Co Spgs, wanted to ride it on his own trails in Dakota Ridge.

two bikes sold. Thank you.

Don't worry, they'll post here in about 5 minutes.
but it turns out, when I speak to people about forums, those that are aware of ridemonkey always comment about the larger percentage of internet bullying that goes on here and prefer more civil discourse.

So I will be forced to create alternate identities so I can post in their names. Or I could just post this thread where their reviews are:
