We got about 5" of the fluffy white stuff overnight along Lake Ontario. Then it's supposed to be in the 40's on Saturday and Sunday.

Getting snow today and like usual for this winter, the temps are going up over the weekend. Spring time cannot get here soon enough.

There seems to be a huge case of retardation going on around here. There was a lady in her Mazda 2 driving the wrong way up the freeway on ramp that I used this morning. The heck......

nothing were great for the first two songs.....the lack of a stage and college kids being college kids doomed the rest of the night....out of 45 minutes they played 5 songs and spent the rest of the time drying shit off...

In hell. Welcome!
Morning. We got ~10" of snow and gale winds yesterday. It's ass cold today. My workday ends at ~11:30 at which point I am driving my frozen ass to the mountains to freeze it a little moar on skis.

I truly hope the next week will be better than the past two ones.

Mornin!

Came to a verbal agreement with the person selling the camper last night. I will be dropping by tomorrow morning with the cash to pick it up. I'll give it a little bit of TLC being that it's older, but it's got good bones, fit my size and weight requirements, and doesn't NEED the work. I don't have much towing experience, so I guess that'll be good to learn.

We looked at a slew, but the reality is that the wife and I intend to take this thing on a 6+ month road trip with 3 dogs some time next year. While I would have been good sleeping in the back of the truck I'm not sure the wife was game for that, so I reluctantly agreed to get one for those reasons.

Unrelated.....are your parents looking to sell their house any time soon? :brows:
I'm trying to get them to. But don't hold your breath on that one.

Given the market in that area right now, paired with all 4 of you gone (I'm assuming...maybe Katherine is still there?)....they'd be crazy to stay there, unless they both love it.

That's currently where Laura and I are looking to buy. Probably couldn't afford their house for what they could get for it, but it has all my house criteria met.

I think they are going to be stuck there until my sister is done with school and my grandfather passes away. I'm trying to talk some sense into them that they don't need a 2,700 sqft house with just the two of them, especially whereas none of their children live in the area. My mom is the stubborn one and has a hoard of shit she'd have to get rid of. She'd sooner lose her left arm than give up the grammar test I got a D on in 3rd grade.

Nebraska snow was nothing to reckon with, but my cross bike ate through the depth. Denver has this wonderful weather, I think it's bliss. Today I'm riding 50 mi on the cross bike. NYC lost it's sky snow. Fatbike conditions were excellent. My course of action is to go to Monster cross next week in Virginia. Sunday is the Old Man Winter Rally in Lyons, CO..... maybe I should make a thread about what my doing.

Stuck spending 24 hours in Miami on business tomorrow. Home early Sunday and wife/kiddies are gone. If I can process all the free high grade booze from Saturday and get out of bed, it should be a grand manly day...

Meh.... Wife delivered a laundry list of things she wants me to do today on her way out the door. I'd say she's in for a surprise but as long as we've been together I'm pretty sure she's used to being disappointed. Knocked out another 10k this morning. I sure have been doing a lot of running. :disgust: Not IAB levels, but a lot. I should buy another bike.

Well, it appears yesterday's wind-f**k is over-ish. Stepson called and said he noticed poplar had blown down, and was worried one of our dogs may have been trapped under it. All dogs fine, though when I got home, I noticed one detail..... said tree fell just right, missed roof and veggie gardens, did zero damage (from what I can tell, will know more once on roof/in attic), though it is splintered all over side yard. Fence, on the other hand, did lose some vertical slats, so I have some hammering to do. I know a new fence is in our near future.

On the brighter side, we did save $300 from the wind blowing the tree down instead of bringing in a tree person to do it........

Just retested my water supply now that I have the house filter installed. Hardness is on the high side of normal but everything else is perfect!!! Noticable different in the feel in the shower, and tasted great out the tap.

On the other hand I am realizing I am pooping in perfectly good drinking water now

Yay running! I did an hour on the treadmill this morning. And I feel your pain on the wife-assigned list of chores to do. Happens to me every time I get a day off from work. :D

My ribs ache thanks to a ski crash last week. Shoveling hurt yesterday, and there was some definite discomfort when I ran this morning. I have a 10K race tomorrow which I am skipping due to said rib injury. Speaking of which, here is the post-crash pic. I hit the hole behind me (it is wider and deeper than it looks). I didn't see it in time, made in over the hole, but crashed the landing. Knocked the wind out of me. Thankfully the little bastards behind me didn't run me over. ETA: We skied here the next day at the hole was marked. Yay.
