Trump in a truck, Dukakis in a tank... mistakes were made.

Also good morning! I am hoping for a repeat of yesterday's ride. Today will have both higher winds and temps so I should be good.

Hopefully a ride is on tap for this afternoon then dinner at the local French place. Highs in the upper 60s and sunny. But for the next 8 hours I must deal with the stupidity that is my job. Le sigh.

Possibility of rain in the forecast every day for the next 10 days. I'm ready for Springtime but not all the muddy conditions that come with it.

Mornin!

Ride last night was like a tale of two climates, warm and sunny on the front side of White Ranch but once I got over the hump on Belcher you could see the weather rolling in. Was fun despite and regardless of this fact. Now to mentally prepare myself for my 3 hours of morning meetings.

@6thElement @Toshi Roundup is a decent alternative whilst climbing Belcher. A bit longer than just going up the fireroad but also singletrack and a bit more gradual in the climbing department.

Went to a birthday party last night at a swankaliciious Country club. Came to the realization that I have taken a wrong turn on the road of income generation. Ate good food, drank good wine, looked at beautiful women with long legs, curly hair and enhanced torsos.

Going to squeak through today, get a good nights rest and then an early flight to Reno to spend some time with my siblings and parental units, for some gun shootin', a lot of booze and food, some discussion on a family real estate venture and maybe some motorcycle riding.

Not a flake of snow in Stapleton. I'm going to ride in as the NNE 25 mph wind sounds like it'll let me just sail into work if I sit up straight and extend my arms.

On second thought it's orthogonal to my path. I will drive.

Now it is snowing like hell. S'posed to continue til maybe 4 PM, then rain forever.
:stupid:

wtf is up with this weather :ban:

ride last night was good. though I'm really looking forward to dirt. still, managed to bag a KOM  (despite tailing behind my buddy, who was none too impressed with this fact!) then we went to the pub. I think i might be a little hung over. or it might be that my wife worked until 1:30, then my first son woke up at 2, and my second son at 2:15. ugh. busy day here too.

Fuck this shit.

I'm kind of anxiously waiting (not positively such) for the (R) to vote for the ACHA. That way I can walk over to my 65 y/o colleague on Medicare and thank him for voting for Trump. If that passes, I will not be able to get insurance outside of my current company because of preexisting conditions - epilepsy. My drugs retail cost $10k/quarter. If I have to pay that, a very large percentage of my salary will go to my drugs, taking me from a being a contributing member of society, spending ~$20k/yr on general consumer goods, to one dependent on the healthcare sector. I've got a whole bunch of "fuck you's" for you Justin and Rick. The only other option is to drive to Canada and buy drugs there retail, forcing me to smuggle prescription drugs back to the US.

Fuck this country. I should have gotten my UK citizenship when my parents got married (I was a minor). At least then I'd have the choice to leave.

Hi.

It is currently raining here and supposed to continue doing so for another few days. This means more time on the stupid bike. Not that I'm complaining, at least it isn't snowing. :D

Morning Monkeys.

Where is the creature from the black lagoon when I need him. Fuck this railing, just saying.

So much rain, but it let up just in time for pooch walkies. It is getting a bit lighter in the mornings, that is a welcome change to my usual pitch black morning.

@stoney not saying it will pass, but I have a feeling it aint going to pass. A lot of the folks who loved to bitch about ACA now realize that it is actual work to repeal and replace it, better or otherwise. I think enough folks in the public have let the folks in Washington know they aren't happy with the AHCA as written and the tweaks they keep trying to make only make it worse.

you've already begun calling it the "stupid bike". I'm glad you're coming to your senses! Soon it will sit unused in a corner of your apartment, and by next summer, it will have been sold, and you can have your :monkey:card back! :sarcastic:

I realize that I am lucky from that standpoint, but it also effectively ties me to my company indefinitely, as I already have the coverage here.
You could just pay COBRA in unemployment. That shouldn't be more than, say, $1500/mo. :D

Decided yesterday that instead of a "diaper bag" for the kid, we are going to get him a backpack and he can carry him own stuff/supplies. Time he starts carrying his own weight I guess

Highlight of an otherwise horrible day yesterday was when a client brought high grade vodka and bourbon for the whole office. Apparently he's a distributor or sales rep. Good timing because by the end of that day I needed a drink as badly as I ever have.

DH bike is my only functional rig ATM so hitting the "big" jumps this afternoon...

Working with insane management and insane staff is giving me anxiety and depression. I need to physically blockade myself to protect me from their nonsense. People are awful. Can we extinct yet?

My early retirement plans hinged on Obamacare; I currently enjoy legacy benefits that would not be matched as a new hire in a different company. It covers Humira which is exceptionally expensive.
