Is your new DH bike built up yet? Shuttle season is upon us !!
Fully built up but I need to swap the rear brake hose, might try and do that this afternoon. Not sure if the wheels are holding air properly yet with the weird DT Swiss grommet around the valve.. Too much work travel getting in the way of bike riding/wrenching time.

Fake sign.

* It says nothing about R3ach™, which is the only measurement that matters
* It says there's now 28" wheels
* It says that Kidwoo is under 4' tall

I declare shenanigans.
Most 27.5 x 2.4 - 2.5 tires I've measured are.....about 28" OD :clue:

Team/sponsor: Dumpster Fire Racing.

That's actually the results for the team name contest. Where are the racing results?

This may be a wreckoning, but he is rolling with a DC fork...

True I think it would be wise for smaller companies like Evil to offer their DH bikes with the ability to use 29" or 650B. I would think having the rear axle with a flip chip could make this happen going 15mm or so for clearance.

eh, I feel like companies should offer their bikes in wheel sizes based on height, but that's just me. No way you should be on a 29er under 5'6. And if you're 6'2", you can get all the advantages of big wheels, so you may as well use them.

Didn't Liteville do this?

in some regards they went a step beyond this. not only did they offer different wheel sizes based on frame size but they also offered different chainstay lengths based on size. i believe they are still doing the "scaled sizing" but they are now 27.5 across the board for the MK4.

i believe the MK3 was:
  • small - 26 rear x 26 front
  • med - 26 rear x 27.5 front
  • large - 27.5 x 27.5
  • XL - 27.5 x 29
  • disclaimer, i could be off but you get the picture.
as you went up in sizes the chainstay increased in length, not just accommodate the larger wheel but to better balance or position the rider relative to size.

Makes sense to me. There's some trail and XC bikes out there that follow this theory. Then again, I'm pretty sure Casey Brown is riding a 29er in the EWS, and she's what, 5'2? 5'3?

when you're fast, you can be more specific. in general, I feel like simplifying things down to height works well. I'm not a huge fan of norco's size specific geometry, as I don't necessarily want longer stays because I'm taller, but I get the idea.
