the hose? I need to shorten wifey's, but I don't have a bleed kit. I can't believe the shop didn't do it for the $207 rebuild. Any knowledge out there?
You shouldn't if you're careful. Just unthread the hose from the barb, trim it, and thread it back in. If you lose any fluid during this process you will probably need to bleed it. Should be a 5 or 6 minute process total

I managed it without the need of bleeding.
As the reverb hose is rather rigid always have a good grip. Mark the hose where you want to cut it beforehand. If you happen to loose a drop of the fluid, you can try to top it of with the fluid of the shortened hose.
...and depending on the model year, old remotes did not have a thread, so the hose had to be bolted on afaik. But I guess this is the least matter here.
