Yesterdays venture out with old friends and their kids was a great time. I am now riddled with nostalgia and the realization that I am le old. Their oldest daughter, my "niece", starts college in Denver, Monday. Oy.

On the other hand, they have 4 kids total, and it was a fantastic affirmation that, at least for us, stopping at 1 might be the only smart thing I've ever done.

Wife announced intention to make pork green Chile tonight. Sounds like a liquor store run is in my future as well.
Green chili and drinks were also a success, as evidenced by my inability to sleep and raging headache this morning.

I have a wicked cough this morning. May or may not be related to 2 hours inhaling mud and water yesterday.

Shit load of rain yesterday in our sector of Colorado, but we enjoyed dropping down to Manitou Springs for a local brew fest before it hit.

Cool town.

Today is a classic cool, overcast fall day here. Perfect day for a warm fall soup!

I've got to travel to OKC M-W of this week... so yay me :(

The beauty of technology. 35k feet in the air and able to post on teh Monkey.

Kids weren’t super excited about being drug out bed at 5am to take me to the airport. I’m actually surprised the wife volunteered.

Thinking about trying to hit the airdome tonight.

In hell. Welcome!
Today was probably the nicest day of all summer here. I managed to finish a couple of my projects - holes in gutter have been cleaned, patched and sealed, a window I am restoring has been glazed, wood frame around window opening has been painted. Also, a friend living in CC stopped by which was very nice, then rode around 10 miles in the evening in perfect conditions. I wish we had 365 days/year like today.

You mean we haven't already?
I was thinking about your ring slinging business. A few of my blue collar buds are rolling silicone rings in place of wedding rings, or under them. Supposedly, it's so the silicone rips off with the ring, before the finger skin comes off. You seeing much in the way of up-size requests to account for this?

Yeah I've seen a few rubber rings for that reason. It's kind of unnecessary though because most work pants, like Carhartt, have a small pocket just above the front pocket. The only thing that fits in that pocket is a ring. Old school...

charles bradley died yesterday.

regret not seeing him.
I was given tickets to CB a few years ago. Music was great but the crowd was filled with pastel polo shirted UVA fratboys laughing and making racist remarks, I walked out a few songs into the show. This was back in that symbol of progressive liberal america of Charlottesville.
