New Fox DH coil shock

I have a 375 Ti Fox spring for sale on PB. Will happily knock a few $ off to avoid PB sale.

Now about my adjusters both turning at the same time, normal or not and fix suggestions if not?
What exactly is happening? The HS adjusters are turning when you adjust the LS ones? Mine isn't doing that IIRC.

Fox shocks have always done that with the knobs. The RC4s do it too. How can you tell you're turning the 3mm in there though? Isn't there a wrench in the way of the view? I can bottom out the ls damper and still have HS damper turns.

I can see the 6mm turning when I turn the 3mm.

If I close a 3mm completely, turn the 6mm open a few clicks, I can then turn the 3mm closed those few clicks again.

The ls moving with the hs is normal. But definitely not the other way around like in your first sentence. That's not right. You should definitely be able to move the 3mm without the 6mm turning.

@6thElement Did you try to go all the way in or out with the HD adjuster so that it bottoms out when you try to turn the LS adjuster?

If it doesn't work you could take a 6mm allen key cut around half an inch of and drill it so that a 3mm would fit. Then you would have to hold the drilled bit with a wrench and voilà

I'd rather wash away the shizz those bolts have accumulated with WD-40. That has worked for me with other fox shock dials.

I managed to separate the compression adjusters this morning before heading to the lifts, rebound are still stuck together...

Stuck together would mean the outer HSC adjuster is visibly moving when you try to adjust the LSC. A set of split-ring pliers that open outwards to hold the outer HSC 6mm adjuster and then a 3mm allen key to move the inner LSC adjuster are your friends in this situation if they're stuck together. If they stay stuck you can end up turning one or the other past their stops and breaking the whole adjuster mechanism so best to nip in the bud.

That was one of my attempts this morning using split ring pliers, not much room to maneuver them in with only 1.5mm either side.

Two weeks later, my DHX2 shat the bed, dafuq Fox? Sounds like a bad seal, possibly in the IFP?
sounds like my old ccdb...it was like angry geese were chasing me. then they rebuilt it for some $$$. then, 3 rides later, my bike sounded like something was loose and knocking. so i tore it apart like 34 times. no help. isolated to shock. put the old vivid coil on it. silent. and then CC won't return my messages about warranties on their work all of a sudden...

Has fox released metric sized shocks yet?

I thought I read that they were going to make them, but can't find any on their website.

Somebody on mtbr mentioned he got a fox x2 for his new nomad from his dealer (I presume SC dealer). That's a 230x60.

If you have a 230x65 a la transition patrol you can shorten a 9.5x3 coil 11mm and get that. That's what I did.

But seriously, once again, fuck rockshox. Metric shocks will simplify, metric shocks are a better design blah blah blah

Now we've got frame specfic shocks with none of them constituting enough of a market in any one specific size to have options. Once again......it was honestly better before this 'improvement'.

At least they simplified the hardware options for Metric shocks by adding 18 more hardware options. Now we have an even 100 options for mounting hardware and everyone knows 100 is a vastly more metric number than 82.

How did you do this? Just smash it on a grinder for a while? I have a Ti spring that's just a tad longer than spec, and it makes it a pain in the ass to get on/off the shock as I have to compress it somehow to get the end cap on. Couple questions about doing this though:

- Normally at the ends of the spring the end of the coil is "wound in" and flattened so there's a flat surface all the way around the circle where the end cap contacts the spring. If you grind that off then only part of the spring would be resting on the end cap. Issue?

- At some point won't shortening it start affecting the spring weight and/or stroke that it will handle? (In your example, that's less than a 5% change so probably no big deal there...)

Goride has a guy doing fox rebuilds. I just sent him the shock with a shaft collar I got from Ace, and some plastic washers roughly 8mm ID and said 'here put these in there'

There's nothing position sensitive about a dhx2, especially not chopping off the top end like that. The whole shock is just a damping circuit (in the literal circuitous sense) so you can put the active travel anywhere in the stroke.

Don't do that to your spring. It won't compress evenly.

OK, duh. I read "shorten a 9.5x3 coil" and took that to mean, well, actually shortening the coil! Never mind...

Rode some really rough trails today. Oil blew out the shaft seal.. this shock is a 2018.. only a few rides on it. I'm gonna move up a spring weight, but crap!

Where do you buy Ti Fox springs aftermarket? I can never find anything reliable.

As an aside, how much does (did) it weigh? FWIW, my steel fox spring (400 x 3.25) was a hefty 586g. The whole shock is a touch over a kilo, looking to shed some weight in the future.

I sent a request for service to Fox with the video, they sent me a 2nd day air shipping label for under warranty evaluation. All their shocks are serviced in CA, mine is en route now, I'll let you know what their conclusion is.

@Kurt_80 keep looking at PB and eBay. I found a lightweight Ti 420 x 2.25 there, with it, the DHX2 is only ~50g heavier than a CCDBACS.
