I have no idea where I am
Read somewhere else about Border Patrol dumping out water along migrant routes. Appallingly cruel.

They come here to pick our fruits and veggies and we treat them like a heavily armed invasion force !?

They have more balls than 99% of the deplorables that bitch and moan about them.
Think about what it takes to undertake that journey.
Leaving everybody and everything you know behind.
Only possessions - what you can carry or about as much as you can stuff into a kids school sized backpack if your lucky.
No idea about food or water other than what you have on you.
The "people" if required, who you contract to help you, may end up being your worst problem
...and you have not even left Mexico yet...

I would take a trucklload of them over some fat asshole whose toughest job was internet troll whilst riding his couch.

If they were actually helping good people and screening out bad, I could see a benefit to their presence...but the reality is about 180 degrees from that.

A lot of people read about things like Nazi Germany in school and wonder what they would have been like in that society in the 1930s.

A guy like manimal never has to wonder about that, y'know?

Can somebody please give me the cliff notes on Mr. Soros?
About all I know is he is very rich and seems to reside in the deepest darkest part of the conservatives anxiety closet.

Left Wing version of the Koch brothers and all the other rich fuggers who think they should run the planet simply because of a fortunate birth...

Nothing brings out the Putin bots like Soros' name and it's yet another nexus between what currently passes for conservatism in the States and Eastern European autocratic movements. Maybe i'm just not quite as brave as the armchair Holocaust heroes here and i don't maintain any elaborate wall charts of Soros' political contributions at home, but if you seriously think that advocating open societies as conceived by Karl Popper is something that requires your furious opposition you should take a long hard look in the mirror where you will probably encounter an idiot and/or fascist.

Not a fan of or an expert of the guy, but a look at his opponents is rather instructive.

But I'm sure a video that ends with this ad comes from a reasonable place, such as a channel that can teach me more about the homosexual agenda:

Anything by D'Souza is automatically discredited. He is nothing but a puppet sycophant apologist lap dog for the Right wing. Simple comparisons of right wing and left wing thought patterns and dogma shows us that Nazi ideology and methods are in lock step with right wing fascist thought.

Not a huge fan of Soros by any means, because in the end it all comes down to class warfare with the haves using and abusing the have nots in order to fulfill their agendas.

My distaste for him being stated already, I will affirm to all present that, imho, he is 1000 times more palatable than anyone on the Right.

The more I learn about Right Wing hatred and fear of Soros, the more I like him...
You gotta realize, most of what's out there as far as negative portrayals of him is literally from douchebags at fox, threatened by his money and politics. Buying policy sucks obviously but the people griping about soros are all about the Mercers/Kochs/Adelsons etc. They're basically all full of shit.

And now guys like dan-0 think he's a nazi

I don’t think he’s a nazi, just an opportunistic asshole. Just like bloomberg, adelson, Koch bros and anyone using financial power to steer public policy. But keep telling yourself that he’s different because he tells you what you want to hear.

Everyone who is in power or wants to be in power tells people what they want to hear...you cant effectively maintain a large power base with the truth. If you rely on the truth you will be known as a zealot or freak and be doomed to the small time...

I'm not telling myself anything. You posted a Dinesh D'Souza (ha!) video claiming that soros also wouldn't have had to question what side of a Nazi occupation he'd be on. One where he's DESCRIBING HIS FAMILY GETTING OUT OF NAZI GERMANY WHEN HE WAS FOURTEEN

The guy revolutionized trading markets and investment growth strategies yet republicans (the capitalist market guys) do everything they can to go after him because of his politics. Not only do I think that scenario is hilarious, I realize it's about as dumb and contradictory as claiming a jewish family escaping the Nazis would join them.

clif notes: money in politics still bad

you: hahah!

If you spent even the slightest bit of time to learn what the intentions behind the idea of an open society are, you'd notice there is a damn big difference. Maybe not to your Kochs and Adelsons, who exercise their power within a still republican framework, but look at his detractors in Eastern Europe, where he is the most active. Soros has been supporting institutions that are anti-totaliatirian from the start, and that spectrum includes fascism and communism. Been to Hungary lately? I have, and you can witness in real time how a republic is slowly being dismantled by eroding freedom of the press and establishing a system of corruption and cronyism.

He also isn't exactly supporting policies with the sole aim of making himself richer, how exactly is he an opportunist? I honestly think that the two party system in the US has been quite detrimental to your critical faculties as a nation. Where else could you get away with that "both sides" and fair and balanced horseshit?

And your contribution to this thread was exactly the type of out of context b.s. that gets spammed on any European message board as soon as his name comes up followed by that "two sides of same coin" nonsense. I'm curious to know how many of his fervent online detractors had even heard of him until two years ago. Maybe he is so attractive as a lightning rod because he is a person where that hilarious right wing inversion of the liberal elite actually kind of applies for once? Because as we all know, those with power tend to vote social democrat and just love higher taxes workers' rights.
