So I'm sitting in the hospital recovery room waiting waiting for Wifey and there are two older couples just jabbering about whatever. All of a sudden they start talking about how the "younger generation" is lazy and doesn't know how to work hard. I'm at the upper end of Millennial and I'm sitting here studying for my CFP. There is a girl here who is maybe 25 who was studying for a nursing degree but had taken the day off work to drive her mom. I overheard somebody about 30 on the phone talking about how when he gets off from work, he has a late shift at another company that he is picking up.

Bunch of indignant, Fox poisoned, and socially blind retirees running around here. It takes less than a minute to scan the room and see that almost everybody under 40 here is working in some form while waiting.

Deep down, part of me almost wants another 2008 to occur. Just to watch all of these people who just retired watch their life savings go boom, then realize that they were hang-on's at their companies before they retired. They can't go back and the people they are trying to get jobs from are the young people they have been slandering and talking down to for the last decade. They can't get jobs because they "aren't qualified" for some asinine reason or another, most likely because those lazy young people are all working two jobs keeping them from getting one.

You don't have space in your garage for your cars, yet you have room for an extra freezer now? :D
Basement. Those three large wardrobes are going to be sold or given to Wifey's mother when she moves out.
Also, I almost have space now for the car. I threw away a ton of shit this week and found a loft in the garage where I can put seasonal/long-term storage. I need to sell the garage fridge because it blocks the depth needed for the Infiniti (and there is one in the inlaw suite). I plan to have the offending shelves down by the weekend.

Bish please, those old fogies had the advantage of the best period of middle-class economic growth in US history, then have the nerve to mooch off of future generations when they finished sucking the teat dry. Tell DJ Nana to go pound sand.

Ikon Base passes x 4 acquired. (Thankfully Mariko is cheap and Yuna is super duper cheap.)

Preaching to the choir son. I've laid it out for some of my "I've got mine, fuck you" family members and they just claim that I'm jealous and too lazy to put in real work.

It's like, "listen bitches, your timing was such that at the age of 35 you were working in the fledgling tech industry and got rich on stock options for a company that blew up 12 months later. You sold it all with luck timing and did that 3 times, bought a house cash, then "retired" and dumped all of your money into another house (one on each coast now because you were moving) and a shitty rental. The tech market blew up when you conveniently had no more money in the stock market, you waited 8 years until 2007 (because your parents were on the East coast and you were constantly going back and forth) then sold your East Coast house and rental because they moves. You wanted to put all that money into the stock market, but while everything was cash, the stock market blew up and dropped 46% and you plowed everything into the market making a fuck ton of money on the recovery. And NOW you have decided CA is too fucking liberal and are selling your Silicon Valley house you bought in 2000 at a massive gain. You are the luckiest people on Earth. You have no investment skill. Every time you chose a specific investment it goes down, you just have the luckiest timing on Earth."

Nope. "We are phenomenal investors and planned everything out." Bullshit. I was there through all of it and heard you say how lucky you were hundreds of times.

I'm on the fence still. Need to confirm whether we want to plan an Aspen trip. What do you guys think?

We will totally be down for skiing M-F at Aspen/Snowmass. Only thing that would put a hitch in that is if kid 3 materializes, but that's what pass insurance is for.

For us Ikon Base is a no-brainer. Aspen, Steamboat, Jackson, AltaBird, Big Sky? Fuck - the pass would be worth it just for those. Throw in unlimited WP & Copper and it's srsly a no-brainer.
This. Even if we don't take any big trips it's worth it for WP/Eldora with the kids + midweek skiing for me at WP/Copper/points further if there's fresh snow.

Haven't done any running in a few years. I may regret the "easy" 2 miles I just did in the morning.

Cheaper than grocery store. Want to save money and you like beef? Get a few friends involved and split a cow. Pay more up front but save on overall cost. We're just lucky that we have a lot of ranches nearby.
we've done the cow split with friends . . . you just have to make sure you use it.

So my flight outta NY tomorrow night got canceled due to impending weather. waiting to see when american says i can go home. hopefully thursday . . .

News just reported that Ski Hesperus resort near Durango has had to close due to insufficient snow...

Looking forward into late summer I kinda like having water come out of the tap when I turn it on...

I like a good steak, but wifey isn't bothered and we don't have a chest freezer to store it.

My own world inside my head
Say wha? Not that I disagree.
Just looking to possibly replace the expedition. Test drove a caliber with 60k. Call them out on the bad wheel bearings and warped brake rotors..... As well as the fact there "best price" was too high.

There response is," well it's sold as is, and the price is the price, we don't haggle."
Of course that leads to the ," Well we have to see what we have into the car...". I called them out again when they tried to tell me they were only making 700.

I dropped my list of research that fair trade in at a dealership was only 2200, give another five hundred that most places are willing to put into a vehicle, five five benefit of the doubt that they had maybe 3000 into it and they are trying to sell a fwd vehicle in Montana at full kbb value.......
That's when the offered the leo discount of 300 dollars. That's when I let them know I had 18 years in automotive, they can do better.

Why not just drop a new engine in the expedition?
