So the industry finally realized the Cannes Film Market is happening in 10 days. So today despite having a day off I had to be at the office and I will spend the whole 10 day long weekend reading, looking through industry news and setting up meetings.

Also no train tickets at 11am to visit my father and get my trailbike from him so I have to get the train that starts at 5am tomorrow. Thank god I will be training today so I will let off some steam.

Morning primates.

I'm sooooooooo glad it's finally warming up in the western NY area. Haven't seen snow for a week and the ground is drying up. Might have to get out and hit the trails sometime soon :weee: (in between all the damn kids birthday parties we have to attend ).

Damn, I thought the weather tomorrow was supposed to be nice. Looks like a mix of snow/rain and low temperatures. Dudes and I were planning a road/gravel adventure, but it looks like we'll be resorting to plan B which is a 20km ride on the beach.

Stop reading if you have any sort of OCD. Someone installed some new toys in one of my server racks, and created this abomination! Holy god damn, for one why on earth would you leave that space and screw up EVERYTHING?! And the different coloured bolts. And the missing bolt. UGHHHHHHHHHH.:twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch:

Inserting coffee now.

Picked up my new to me Bontrager SE4s at the post office yesterday. Will be going on my kona humuhumu for some full rigid single speed fun when I ride trail with the kids.

Also went to a party for a potential new indoor bike park They're running a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds and gauge the commitment of the community. Can't say I'm impressed with the approach, seems to me launching a business is about taking risks, but what do I know ... On the other hand, this city is pretty fickle, so I can't really blame them. Anyways I had two tickets because I contributed to the campaign and won a belt, some grips, and a chain protector in the draw. Gave the grips and chain guard to a grom who was super stoked!

Dropped the kids off at a new community centre for their pd day today. They're going to an indoor stadium later. They seemed stoked. I hope they have fun.

Currently sitting in the parking lot of my garage, waiting for them to open. Changing all 4 discs and pads today. :/ $$$

Did they mention Joyride at all? They seem to have a pretty successful program going. I haven't been in a year or two, but it was always filled with lots of people when I went.

Its a great place for kids too. The kids love rolling the pump track.

If you're ever in Toronto during the winter months, you need to visit it. Its not the cheapest place to go, but you're guaranteed to have a fun time.

Trail work is on tap for tomorrow. We had a bunch of odd weather this winter which made for a bunch of blow downs. Gotta walk some loops and get cutting. Debating between dragging out my chainsaw or just using hand tools.

Morning Monkeys.

The rain, it has returned just in time for the weekend. Just try to get through today's all day training on the system I taught myself last week. Then repeat on Monday, yay.

Moar coffee and a shed trip is in order.

Was a productive weekend for me. Started off acing my ATF interview for all my home licensing Monday, Tuesday got the ball rolling for the claim on the expedition, hung a storm door, and built the kiddos play set, Wednesday went out to the range for a few hours of testing, and yesterday I built up the raised garden beds, ordered work pants, prepped the kiddos play set for painting, started painting, and even got a little sleep...

Never actually made it to Joyride, but it's not for lack of wanting to. I will go some day. The lady I spoke with at the fundraiser (one partner in the venture) spoke very highly of Joyride. I think it's something they aspire to. She also runs the BMX park here (Nepean BMX), which I should also check out with my boys. Might even try and find time to bring them there this weekend.

My local hill (Camp Fortune) has just posted they're not going to open this weekend. But last weekend they had more snow than what you've posted in that photo. I wonder if some hike-a-bike DH runs on the fat bike are in order... hmmm...

Because now you can run patch cords to the back without using the full management on the side of the rack..... duh!

present. climbing gym had shoe demo last, multiple brands come in (last night was 5.10, butura, scarpa, and la sportiva) with a lot of models in a lot of sizes, and best of all 20% off everything. spent over an hour and tried on probably 8 different shoes in a number of sizes before settling on la sportiva otaki. surprised that a 42 was the best fit when my street shoes are a 10.5. oh well. came home, kids to bed. got on the trainer. had some beers and a leftover rueben sub afterwards. hit the shed probably too hard, passed out on the couch.

raining today, feeling soup for lunch. maybe pho.

i'm now that guy that listens to the local public classical / jazz radio station.

Fun trail ride last night on the local chunk tech antiflow trail. Man I love that thing, plus the local club made some expansions and have been doing a bunch of work on various parts of the route, and it’s really coming together.

Related: I really oughtta change the gearing on the hardtail, all I do is bitch about it when I ride it. Super fun bike, but damn it the low gear ain’t low enough. My legs are pissed today.

It's still in limbo. Lawyer has sent the letter explaining that I'm employed in a completely different division of the company that deals with printing, and not signs. We hope that will work. I doubt it, and will most likely have to sit in the corner and think about what I've done for about a year, then I can return to the industry.

Dude... have you tried OG Kush? Or the Wana strawberry lemonade gummies?
Yeah.
Gummies leave me groggy.
I have some really nice oil for insomnia (Jamaican Lion (high cbd) & Purple Urkle). its a great day ender & makes for a lazy day if you wake n bake.
The problem last night was my dab rig was upstairs. So instead of doing what I should have, getting my happy ass out of bed (it was cold!), I just laid there and the chatter run its course. :/
