I hate how this thing looks, but I appreciate the effort.

Can anyone suggest a proper fullface that "breathes" better than a D3? My local trail rides are very high speed, high exposure, high in rocks. Any sort of climbing with the D3, even flatground spinning, isn't very fun... and it's not even close to summer temps yet.

The goal here is to reduce rider lag from having to remove/replace the helmet multiple times on a trail ride, so pls dont suggest some wacky removeable chinbar garbage.

Breathing is a minor concern compared to how damn good you look in a D3.

Let's be honest, the D3 master race saw this and instantly decided "I'll wait for the TLD version".

I'm just going to suggest not pedaling uphill in a fucking fullface. They all suck for that. I don't care who makes it or how much it looks like a special Olympics shuffleboard helmet.

The Leatt and IXS I mentioned both breath better then a D3 but weigh about the same and feel like they'd provide a similar level of protection. I still wouldn't want to climb with one on though, especially in socal temps.

A D2 with actual ventilation would be the bee's knees for something like the proframe. Still the best looking helmet IMO.

had the chance to try one on today , the medium fit , but was tight as hell to take off . and the large fit really well and was a lot easier to take off :). I have some concerns with the mips liner in the forehead area , looks like it may rub through out the ride . the Urge is my next helmet to test fit before making a decision .

My wife just got one to replace the super2r which had the temple pressure points for her, she really likes it, definitely breathes well, reminds me of the old specialized full face from years ago, decendent I think it was, more xc style, not alot of padding compared to std full face

Spent the day marshaling the start of a stage at a local enduro race , spent time asking people thoughts on the Fox helmet , few totally loved it , even started the adjustable cheek pads allow one to fit a smaller helmet . One rider also has the new switchblade and prefers the Fox and wears it full time when climbing , dude is part goat .

Been a couple months, any more enduro/trail reports on the Proframe? I'm considering pegging my enduro meter and trying one of these. Currently in a 2R. Fits great, not too many complaints but definitely gives false sense of confidence for what it is (XC lid with a bar). I've broken one before. Looking for a dual density option to replace it and the Proframe and new convertible Leatt DBX 3.0 Endubruh are the top two on my list. Whatchya say Monkeys?

there was a demo truck at thunder the other day. I didn't try one because I don't want to buy more shit, but they were lending them out with clean liners to people to try, maybe somebody did

When are goggle straps going to start coming with mesh panels so they don't totally cut off all circulation? Looks like a strap may just cause air-flow constipation by closing off that big rear annulus on teh new TLD

....and when did TLD start considering orange-peel a paint feature?

Hey lizzerds - model specific goggle straps vented to match with yer punkin-pertecter of choice.

Seriously about to start creeping out on all of you and hanging out by your houses so I can trip you when you take the trash out at 10pm. Dafuq you need a half ass fullface for? You either need a fullface or you don't. You're buying tickets on airplanes with one wing to 'save weight'

Breathing and not getting super hot. Last I checked the Proframe passed whatever Euro DH fullface tests so it's a lot more protective than a half shell but I can still breath well in it while sprinting at 12,000ft and it won't cook you on a long hot day. Cuz enduro and carrying two different helmets is silly. Too bad availability from Fox is almost nill until late August (totally nill for size XL). If anyone knows where I can find a XL white one help a brother out. QBP says ETA is 7/2/18 but my calender says that was last week.

I’ve thought about this for a couple years and don’t see many scenarios where a constricting and heavy full face helmet isn’t already too hot for a pedally ride in summer, regardless of the chinbar design. I see that heat around my lower head, ear area, etc at low speed mattering far more than breathing constriction.

Perhaps in other parts of the world, or for fall/winter riding.

Also, it’s 2018 you fogeys... ain’t nothing wrong with a strap-on near your annulus.

Depends on what you call hot I guess @rpet . I've recently moved somewhere an awful lot hotter and about a million times more humid, so these 'half assed' full faces do have some appeal.

Still can't make up my mind about them though :(

They test the chin bar but to learn how, you have to buy the test specification PDF for $40. Since the Giro Switchblade also has the ASTM F1952 I would not be too confident about this for true DH duties.,
They do fall apart on impact. The underwire in the construction of the chin guard could possibly create a pivot when the one side snaps on impact an sever your artery in your neck just saying.
