While on my midwest drive I saw a lot of travel trailers and 5th wheels. Lots of Class A and C motorhomes, too. One that looked nice as I passed it was a model from Leisure Travel Vans.

/me will rent such things if he wants to drive around, for many reasons including lack of parking for one

Removed the two mismatched Interstate type 24 marine batteries, hauled them up to Williston, and bought two Trojan T-105 flooded lead acid 225 Ah @ 20 A 6 V batteries, fabricated an AWG 4 jumper to connect them, and put them in the garage on a charger (they arrived at 75%).

Tomorrow a Century Plastics: battery box is supposed to arrive, and I'll start installing them on the pod.

Aren't military trucks designed to break down a lot to keep the troops entertained with *something*?
Cat diesel and an Allison automatic. Pretty straightforward "big truck" underpinnings there. The tire pressure system and the like may cause more problems.

Didn't that engine drop a valve and blow up the block almost immediately? Nah, like all military hardware, those are built for continuous expensive maintenance.

In the cleavage of the Tetons
Had to troubleshoot a no gas pressure situation (tank was full).
Basically disassembled the regulator as much as I could, there were no less that three pressure valves on that thing. Backed em all out and re tightened, tank worked after that...success in the field!

I've already had one of the trucks and the newer ones suck. I've been kind of looking for a low mileage older tacoma and also sort of a camper shell.

I'm in a state full of white people who have been outdoor lifestyle marketed to, pretty sure I could either use the setup or sell it tomorrow for more money.

checking it out in the am

Check out the latches for the pop up. look for rot, Raise the pop up and look for wear on the fabric and operation of the mechanism. Run every piece of equipment. Look very carefully around all doors and windows for signs of leakage and wood rot. If you get it you probably want to toss the mattress, just saying. if they are manual jacks ask him if he has a electric drill adaptor for the jack and bring your drill

Nowhere Man!
Looked at a Camper Toy hauler thing. It was owned by a landscaping company and is whooped on. Smells like a ashtray. Lots of room. No place to park it.

Oh cool those things are selling now. I saw some prototype/kickstarter stuff from them last year.

Not really down with the glorified tent designs to be honest. I've been looking for an aluminum framed pop-up to convert to a hardside pop up. I sleep in the desert a lot and wind gets pretty brutal. Plus light. Sometimes I like to sleep past sunrise.

Some cool fixtures though for sure.
