Sure lets get into electronics when we can barely operate a business that is purely mechanical.
How about we fix the minor things first, like making something that does not creak worse than my grandma going up the stairs.
How about being able to design a damping circuit that does not need to be reinvented each year, hell, how about one that just operates correctly.
Never mind, it won't happen. This is a marketing company primarily, hardly a precision engineering outfit - Jesus H. Christos, this is a company that can not even get its lubricating fluids and greases applied in a proper or consistent manner.

one of my biggest cycling related gripes isn't mtb but road..... we can make electronic self adjusting driver trains but can't come up with a better solution than fucking bar tape.
Care to elaborate? Never had any issues with it. It's light weight, there's lots of different options, even more colours and easy to apply. What's your gripe?
it fucking sucks. no, it's not *that* hard, but is a general nuisance compared to the ease of installing MTB grips.

also, thinking about this from a bike industry lizard perspective, your logic is flawed. nothing is ever good enough. no matter how good it is, there are always incremental gains to be had. you might need laboratory grade equipment to prove it, but it's there.

It is until somebody shows you how it is done and maybe guides you through it. But afterwards it's just about not being all fingers and thumbs. Even my former work colleague, an architect (which means he's an artist, but without any craftsmanship over here), managed to get it properly done himself after shown to him.
Also, if I buy a bar tape at a lbs one of the mechanics will install it for a bit of beer money - no problem.
Logic in the bike industry?
I am going to skip electronic suspension and just wait for virtual reality mountain biking. We can all go in group rides together without ever leaving our computers.
Augmented reality riding chasing a ghost down a track, Gran Turismo-style, would actually be pretty cool. And would also lead to some wicked collisions with hikers.

Time for me to raise prices on my frames. Maybe slap a battery and some wires on the shock. Ask me for my leverage curve.
I like it when one rider said "it was only locked out on a bump once, I'm sure it was an isolated thing". Or something like that. ya, it'll only happen once.
Until we have sensors that scan the terrain ahead and pre-adjust I don't see how this will capture all of the moneyz

As for Live Valve, I'll hold out judgment until I can try it. For now I still like my all-acoustic bike. That goes for shifting too, even though Di2 and e-tap are proven to work pretty damn well.
Not gonna happen. Even in the Merc, it is limited, pretty simplistic and only works up to 130 kph. With a max resolution of 3 mm. What the hell, that'll barely cover my Kamakazi speed.
And that's for a million bucks where live valve is cheap.
can you imagine the cameras trying to predict your line choice on a gnarly tech DH.
Just give it blue-tooth and a little light that lights up when you connect your phone. No function, just a light.
