Any issues doing this? It's a proper seatpost shim (4" long or so). 30.9 to 31.6 so I can use a dropper post. Warranty is irrelevant, just wanna make sure I won't damage the frame.

that i can't answer. My BMC cost $480 off ebay, and the serial number was cut out of the carbon. so, my warranty is already expired.
In theory, the shim has a lip on it, and the post is aluminum, so that eliminates the need for carbon paste. So I've got that going for me. It cinches up just fine and I figure the sun will melt the frame before the shim causes it to explode, so I'm good.
I have a shim in a carbon Intense 29er for an electronic post, the sheer amount of hate that draws from the Monkey should have killed me long ago, yet here I am. You'll be fine.

Is it a Magura and if so is it the 2018 model?
I have the first gen one and it is a horrible piece of shit! Sweet baby Jesus is it slow, you have to hit the button, wait, drop the post to the right height and hold it there for two seconds. The head also started to unscrew from the strut, definitely not made to the same standard as their brakes. Mine was supposed to be the new quicker acting 2018 model but the seller was a liar and I got shafted.

First gen, and yeah, slow as shit. Got it for $100 intending to put it on a different bike that didn't have internal routing, then my Reverb finally gave up the ghost, had about 25° slop in the bushing. The remote sucks, I don't totally mind the speed since I don't really drop it more than 25mm unless I'm getting off the bike, but overall it's been reliable, and I've not really been murdered by the fine folks on RM.

I did however manage to crash yesterday and loosen the head of the seatpost, goddamnit, whacked it back into place and did another 10 miles of rawks. Think it's time to build a whole new bike...
